Thinking of buying one of these for my radeon 4850

Will i need anything else than thermal compound.

Thermal compound is pre-applied according to the instructions I found on Artic Cooling. You should bet set. Unless you want to use a better compound.
You might need something to remove the old thermal compound with though.

U can remove the old compound with a bank card for example. Later, use nail color removes or that thing. Only few drops, keep that in mind.

On Arctic Cooling, ive seen pretty alot of people complaining about the compound what comes with the cooler. So maybe you wanna buy some and just use ur own. My CPU cooler (AC Freezer7 Pro) came with its own compound too, it was already applied and i just had to seat it on my motherboard. In other way, it works like charm but i will change my compound one day.

get some heatsinks for the memory and the VRMs
just in case

I opted out of this and went for the akasa vortexx neo decreaced my GPU temp by 12 degree's super dupa cooler highly recomended.
