I agree partly. Forza 2 was, considering it is a mass market and on a console, a very good game/sim. It has been said before but while it isn't up there with LFS in terms of the detail of the physics it is pretty damn good. I would disagree thought with FM2 being car porn for xbox. GT was as it handles like crap where FM2 was car porn + good physics.
The improvement they have said they have amde for FM3 should make it a really really good game/sim.
I never buy the special edition ones, never seems worth it tbh. That is why i preordered the normal FM3 as soon as it came out
I hate that the grid size has not been expanded. To me this was the one major shortfall of the first game, the reason I did not buy the second game, and possibly the reason I will not buy the third. However, there have been enough improvements, I might buy it just for how beautiful it is and for all the new cars.
The graphics could still be the same as FM1 and I wouldn't care, as long as they gave me the ability to expand the grid size (especially in custom races) to 24ish (or more).
who has put the research into finding this out, they obviously have never raced on any pc based race sim as races with 20-30 races offer far better and more exciting races than just 8 cars, sounds like an attempt to reduce slowdown, but im probably wrong
Yeah, more than likely, however, in reality, you only ever race the car infront of you and the car behind you, so the number of cars doesn't always equal good racing, I have had better races with 4 cars than I have with 30, but thats another story.
To be honest, the number of cars really doesn't bother me, I would say 90% of my time in FM2 was tuning, upgrade and painting different cars and then hotlapping them.
From reading that, I wonder if you can see the events you can't enter? Because in FM2 there was a few occasions where I bought a car for a specific event (Face-off events for example) So if you don't know what events your missing you could miss a race by not having a car able to comete in an event.
I am sure they have thought of this so all I can say is, Roll on October.
From what I understand, the dynamic career provides events for the cars you buy, the cars you have in your garage, and the cars you like.
It seems that the first season is "fixed", and by going through this fixed season the game "learns" what you like, and how and where you like to drive, then for subsequent seasons it makes a dynamic career based on this, as far as I know (from that preview and listening to the podcast), you will never have a situation where you are "stuck" in the career, the career will always have something for you to do, it will also suggest cars and if your car is out of its depth, if you want it to.
I think it still suggests cars and events that you haven't done, but I don't think there is any "forced" choices (apart from season one).
It seems pretty clever, and it could mean that the career never ends.
Its certainly an interesting idea, and it will be good to see how it pans out.
Hmmm maybe it will suggest the races then. I didn't mean it would force races more you miss them. Take that you head off towards american muscle cars if you take Skyline Vs Supra face off, how it sounded was if you don't own a skyline or a supra (or not your preferred cars) it wont offer you the event but if it doesn't offer you the event(so you knows it there), how can you complete it unless you buy all the cars to see what races are available. Who knows though, hopefully it will be clever enough to offer you the races one way or another. Maybe through the suggesting events for cars you don't own or if you win cars for events that aren't your 'normal'.
That is what I was thinking about the career never ending, however it mentions on that sight that there is 220 races so if you complete them all surely career would be over?
I think there are 220 "events", like say V8 challange, or FWD cup, or RWD blah blah.
I don't think there is a career to finish in the traditional sense of a career, because it seems open ended, which IMO is the way to go, its better to have an open ended career rather than one that comes to a screeching halt like FM2's did.
I am speculating and reading between the lines, and bottomline, we won't know how it works untill we either get the game in our hands or get an indepth walkthrough of it.
But it does sound interesting, and ground breaking.
Hmm while open ended would be very good, I can't see it happening because you will eventually complete every race possible. I wait for the full walkthrough write up or video though.
I am still trying to complete FM2 career lol, levelled upto maximum but gone back to complete the lower races for which I have had to detune mostof my cars lol.
Either way it is shaping upto be a very good game, i want more videos and walkthroughs now!
