MOMO dying on me?
Hey all,

The past few days I've been having a really big problem with my MOMO Racing. I've had it for just under a year now and I use it quite intesively (I race in a league and practice a lot for that).

The problem is that after racing for a while it looses calibration suddenly (no, this is not the general centering issue). The output goes completely to the left, sending my car into the wall. Sometimes it starts by just putting a force on the wheel (i.e. the wheel wants to turn left), which I can couteract for a few seconds but after that the output snaps into full left lock aswell... Rotating the wheel completely left and right recalibrates it and then it's fine, but by then I'm out of the race of course...

Right before it happens, the lights on the wheel tend to flicker so I think it has something to do with it loosing connection to something temporarily (USB or power).

My question is whether this is a sign my MOMO is dying on me... Have others experienced something like this? Anybody have brilliant ideas as to what's happening? Is there a solution?

It propably looses USB connection. Try to plug it into a different USB-connector. If that doesn't work, open the wheel and see wether the electronics are okay.
The alternative method is to just use Logitech's consumer service. The warranty holds 1 year. But that doesn't involve any tools and smeared hands...

I have the same problem sometimes. It looses USB connection. Also you can try using Logitech Profiler and download one of those patches. I dont really know which one but maybe Momo-Update-beta5. http://www.wingmanteam.com/files/Patches/beta/
sometimes if i make a really fast coutner steer when the back end is sliding out my calibration goes out. it's a pain.

i have to hit "esc", go to "controles" and move the wheel through a lock to lock rotation.

@speedfreak: That actually is the infamous MOMO centering problem. You should try the centering fix.

@Kajojek(PL): I installed the pedal update thingy and it seems to have stopped for now... Thanks, and let's hope it lasts.
Yep, I had this and the update fixed it. I did take everything to bits and fix it at the same time though.
Only thing I did when I had it open was to put a bit of paper underneath the power-connector so it wouldn't be so loose .

Anyhoo, just did a few laps again and it's still holding up. Many thanks!
