Ok, so i know there are a dozen links on all the different wheels , and now i have reached the following decision:

DFP or MOMO?

i have people on either side of the fence saying bla bla bla, momo was designed for pc, dsp is better but for ps2, bla bla.

Can someone please just make the decision for me???

i mean, the DFP is about £10-£15 cheaper and as far as i can see, u lot seem to prefer it.
Whats the main difference between the two?, and i take it that they are the best wheels in that price range? saitek any good?

DFP is better wheel - better made, more rotation, better pedals. And it works 100% fine on the PC. Downside is that the paddles are tiny buttons rather than BIG levers, and the shifter only goes on the right hand side.

Momo has a nicer feeling wheel (imo), but limited lock, a history of problems with the pedals and less wheel buttons. But it does have paddles and a swappable shifter.

I'd say go for the DFP unless you feel you MUST have decent paddles.

Edit: I have a momo, and I love it too. I will ONLY get a DFP when I can afford the Frex goodies I want to go with it.

Are you sure about the DFP is CHEAPER? For as long as I've known, the DFP was always a bit more expensive than the Momo. Be sure you're NOT comparing the Driving Force, which is the blue wheel. The Driving Force PRO the one you want to decide between it and Momo. Though the blue one is a decent wheel for cheap, it is not nearly as good as the DFP or the Momo. It feels like a toy compared to the other two.

I don't think it would be an easy decision between DFP and Momo. I'd guess they are both about the same, with the DFP having some additional features of 900 degree rotation and more buttons. The paddles of the Momo are better. I personally have a Momo and love it. But the DFP was twice the cost back when I got mine, which is why I chose the Momo.

Yeah, i can get the DFP for £58.98 from darkplanets.co.uk and the cheapest i have found the MOMO is for about £68.99.

I think the paddle shifters are probly the biggest pull towards the MOMO right now, altho the troublesome pedals might make it worth the sacrifice going to the DFP.

basically, the perfect wheel doesnt exist.

Are there any other brands that are as good? Some people were going on about Saitek wheels, but i know next to nothing about them.

funny, I hate the big paddle shifters, I like to just flick my fingers and have the gearchange done...
the quality of the dfp wheel is great, feels so much more solid.

i have the momo, but would prefer the DFP, but only if i could get the Frex paddles, or, get an old Ms wheel of ebay and use the pedals with a momo! Perfect combo (what im using atm)

what about the thrustmaster rgt pro? ball bearings, 270° steering (sometimes more than enough!), solid pedals, 5 axes (2 behind the wheel or option of installing more pedals for clutch etc.)..........

Well, thanks for all the opinions - i have bitten the bullet and ordered a DFP from Darkplanets (they seem to be the cheapest) - so yeah, thanks for all those comments.

DFP is a better choice indeed, you won't lose anything by buying it instead of MOMO.

You loose a good steering wheel.
If the design of the DFP was better I'd say 100% DFP. But this way the two wheels are about equal.

Can't remember how many years I've had my DFP, maybe three, and the wheel is still rock solid.










Logi pedals are a different story however.

So i ordered my DFP from Darkplanets yesterday around 3 o clock, and its already here on my desk at work.
Now that is good service!

oh, shut up! the guy just got his pedals! what you do is immature and annoying. If you just got a new computer would you feel nice if people said "how will your hdd last..." ?

IMO the dfp shifters are fine, i only use them on SS and GTR which means the wheel rotation is small enough that they are fine (i run SS on 1:1 ration, and gtrs 1:2 ration)
The reason i got dfp was due to the larger rotation.

As for pedals - both momo and dfp pedals arent great and so are an equally bad point for both.

Besides that, you can have luck with your pedals and they will last for over 1 an a half year and still work like they should, like mine do
