Deadline for Confirmations is 17:00 UTC on Saturday, 15th August. As per the regulations, the penalty for failure to confirm in time is a start from the back of the grid.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Certain rules are being waived for this round, and certain new policies will be placed FOR THIS ROUND ONLY.
1. Any driver, regardless of signed up or not, may attempt to confirm. They will be allowed in at Admin Discretion. In the event of more than 30 teams signing up, priority will go to those who have raced previously in this LFSBC/NDRC season, as well as entrants into this season. To help this a bit, please see the next point.
2. Teams will be allowed, which means you may, if you chose, do driver swaps. In this event, both drivers will score the points for their finishing position. If a team of two finish second, they each will earn 28 points for the 2nd.
3. If you disconnect, you will be allowed to rejoin. We will attempt to have a tracker running publicly to help track this. If not, it will be run privately and the occasional screenshot will be posted if needed. If you spectate or telepit, however, you WILL be DNFed.
4. You MUST make one compulsory pitstop. It must be after the green flag (not on the start) and before 5 minutes remaining. From experience, there'll be a pitstop with these cars around the 1h mark.
Further Notes:
Please observe Name format as per the regulations. Examples:
GT2 drivers shall color their car numbers yellow, GT1 drivers shall color their car numbers blue. You are to select no color (furthest right color button) for the rest of your name.
The Race will start via Rolling Start behind the Safety Car. The pace lap will be single file until entering the oval section to start the race. Pole will be on the right hand side of the track. All cars are requested to maintain approximately pitlane speed until the green flag is waved. The SC will slow to this speed before it heads off of the track. Once the green flag is out, overtaking is permitted.
The Safety Car's Standby Position for this race is in the corner formed by the intersection of the outside wall and the tyre wall at oval Turn 2 at Turn 10. It will pull off to the left as it enters the oval after a deployment
The SC will travel at approximately 130 km/h (~80 mph) throughout the course, only slowing for natural slow points. The SC will be an FZ5 for this round. Drivers should remember SC distance regulations: The leader must remain around 8 to 10 car lengths off the SC, and drivers must leave about 3 to 5 car lengths between their car and the car ahead. Incidents due to following too close may be deemed to be caused by neglect, and a harsher penalty issued.
During SC deployments, the SC Inlap indication will come when the SC is between Turns 7 and 8. At this point, it will begin to accelerate away, and the leader is expected to maintain SC pace, and is not to begin accelerating until it exits the final turn.
The track image indicating approximate Intermediate locations and turn numbers, as we reference them is posted as an attachment. It's the one from the LFS Manual.
Please do not make protests in this tread, there will be a thread created for that after the race has been completed.
There may be a layout in place for this race. It will be posted soon if there will be one.
