Quote from Blowtus :I love these 'my way is right, realistic, hardcore, sim enthusiast champ of the world' discussions...

Its the way of the world man. I dont like the way they go on either but i have learned to accept them.

Just wanted to know what view does Biggie/Flotch/Eza use.
I only race in the cockpit.

How else can you get a good feel for what kind of body roll you are getting?

The view will still pitch and yaw when not in the cockpit view.

Hehe just noticed that you can match the cockpit view positon with out drawing the cockpit!

I've always used the default cutom view with no draw, just centres the cam to the centre of the car. Very little difference to the cockpit view in tintops and exactly the same with single seaters.
Quote from mrodgers :If you are looking at your wheels as they clip the apex, then you are looking way wrong. Look way up ahead on the track as far as you can see. You will get there better and faster. You are focused too early if you are looking at your wheels. What happens when there's a spin up ahead? I have plenty of time by looking up ahead.

This topic has been pounded and argued to death. I have explained where you should be looking in all of them, therefore disproving that it's faster to see where your wheels are to hit the perfect line. Can you see your wheels in a real car? If you rode a motorcycle, you would learn this very quickly. Always look where you WANT to go, not where you are!!!!

I use cockpit view with 60% FOV, BTW.

You took that way too literally, ofcourse i dont watch my wheels when im racing dafty
Quote from axus :Cockpit view in all cars. BF1, I use a custom view, still in the cockpit but 5cm higher than the default cockpit view so I can actually see the road. The steering wheel adjustments for cars like brake bias and ARB settings don't work on custom view though - would be nice to have this added in the next patch.

how do you change the height, i do that on GTR and GTL, thought LFs only allowed you to move backwards and forwards

Chase view here! Best overview in dense race situation. Would be much better if the developers would add a virtual mirror for us chase view drivers!
whitey6272 in the game switch to the custom view while on track. Go into the 'options' then the 'view' menu you should see options for x,y,z offset. mess with the sliders until your happy.
cheers mate i shall do that now
Wheels view. Makes it easier to see the right line, and everyone else
I said above, cockpit view with wheel and arms off.

My only issue with the current system, is the limits placed on that head position. I'd love to be able to adjust it up just abit, I would also like to see some sideways adjustment, not much, say enough to move the view 2-3 inches to the right.

I use LHD, and in the FXO (i think) its a b#tch seeing the walls in left hand turns on SO due to the pillar.

But even with that issue, I won't stray from the cockpit view, its how I have been driving racing games on the PC forever....
Chase view.
