MASSIVE fire near my place, someones gonna be in trouble!
http://www.ely-standard.co.uk/ ... 2009%2016%3A16%3A57%3A610

Loads of roads shut and the fire brigade are struggling to put it out from what i can make out, its been alight for about 3 hours and there is still serius smoke, over 100 tonnes of rubber on fire is not good for people who end up breathing the fumes in, luckily the wind isn't blowing my way....yet.

Which way is it blowing?
If the wind does end up blowing your direction... open up the windows and have the most realistic olfactory LFS experience anyone has ever had
Somebody call 911 shawty fire burning on the tire yard
Onoes! It's the end of the UK :weeping:

Whereabouts in the UK are you from?
E: I think i'm safe.
There was an asbestos roof of a factory caught fire near me a few months ago, they were evacuating everyone within a 2 mile radius or something

Lol @

"Yep, it's on fire alright"
I took this pic about 5:30 when i was leaving my mates place, which is about 6 miles away from where the fire is, not good!

Or clicking the link. Hell even the link url has a clue in it.
Kids these days... Setting this on fire is what they call 'fun'.

Holy damn, thats really massive. I hope it will be okay.

There have been many fires lately in this year or a bit more
Looks like the BBQ is overdone.
Lol looks similar to when a scrapyard went up in smoke near mine, could be seen from Mersea Island (14 miles away)
Remember all the good the things you've done for the environment over the last 10 years, well your town is now carbon neutral ! .

Seriously tho that looks like a bad ass fire, someones gona hang for than one.

Ooch, don't these tyre heap fires take weeks to cool down, or something along those lines? Nasty, especially on a windy day like today was.

Reminds me of when that oil depot over Hemel blew up, well over 20 miles away and we had daytime darkness because of all the smoke and you could smell the burning oil in the air.
Well needless to say, i have told the kids opposite to keep their windows closed tonight just in case of the smoke coming our way and their mum has enforced that heavily, they will be in a right mood tomoroow because of not being able to have windows open, but it isnt worth that risk, as they are only 4 and 5 year old girls, they won't like uncle dan tomorrow!

was that the bunsefield place, i remember seeing that a few years back if it was, that was very bad.

Yeaaa boi
Aussie's know how to do it
well after nearly 2 months, the last of it should be out by the end of this weekend.

The cost of the fire service that had to be in attendance 24/7 while it was burning, plus the initial callout with many crews attending, etc.. to date is just under £80,000, and thats before they have even started the clean up.
