are there any hosts that are karting-ish? (e.g. MRT on tight tracks etc), i'm starting to get into karting and would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.

I once did a Karting Server with someone else but that stopped.

not sure if FM still has their MRT server...

There is a just.racing server that has got MRTs... I was racing there few times.
