Maybe you should ask for money to improve the quality? Just a suggestion.
I remember that, and back then I was thinking the exact same thing as I was when I heard about this 'cast. Luckily Wilko was able to get past the emotional scarring and turned into a commentator who said mostly things that made sense.
I will admit that that was a massive failure, but what I did was I went out, watched some other broadcasts, talked to some people and look what has become of me now!
O.K. Not much I admit but at least I took on the advice of the people who tried to help, and improved my commentating style into the entertaining mess it is now, and upped my broadcast quality, so that when Kev wasn't avaliable to broadcast events for the46, I could step up to the task.
Yeah I agree, thats correct, Eimantas mate, you do need to take on the advice of these seasoned lfs commo's :P, and perhaps some day you'll become LFS' first good Lithuanian commentator
Sorry, I was supposed to do both adminning and commentating during qualifying, which wasn't planned(Felipe told me that there was no admin avilable for it, so asked for some help).
Yep. Will try to fix that one day. In fact I was hearing me speaking on the Vent(we should have failed somewhere) for some reason, obliging me to scream louder and louder, and obliged me to speak to myself, as I couldn't hear Felipe at all.
Sorry for such a fail. Anyway, at least I've tried to produce something, I did my best. I very enjoyed the job when it wasn't failing too much(that fight for 1st place on race 2 was such a great momment). Now it was clear that I wasn't prepared enough, I was contacted only a few hours before the race to do it, despite I was supposed to race on it. I just popped in the commentary box, to do something I never ever did on my life. If I have the opportunity to do that again(*cough*) I know what I should and what I shouldn't do. I'd also like to thanks everyone who tried to give advices to me instead of heavy flamming, this might help me for the future.
Last thing, don't remember that this was a test-race. An event supposed to test if everything is ready and working for the regular season. Obviously Felipe noted the problems he(we) met, and will try to correct them.
I understand that; I wasn't trying to upset you; I just felt that it was an important lesson to all leagues and this 'cast was a good example for me to use. I'm sure you guys can get a good 'cast together, just combined with the stress of a brand new league (with the word crap in the title) it was an odd decision to do a broadcast at the same time.
Well, to see if everything's okay on the broadcasting side of the thing before the start of the regular season. A "public" test like that brings much more motivation to the broadcasting team rather than just a few testings on the training server or whatever IMHO.
E :
Mate, you should read the whole thread to inform yourself on our problems instead of giving advices you already told me 5 or 6 times on the stream.
Anyway, I think that Oldnavy is searching for a commentator for the regular season, if you're interrested, give him a shoot Would be a nice occasion for you to learn that flamming is one thing, doing the things is another
I'd just make sure the first season was a success, then maybe think about a broadcast for the second season... Since it seems that you can't handle both at the same time with the team you have now
TBH the commentary was ok, Yann gave good information throughout, even if he was a bit over excited. Felipe Baby was just too quiet...
Still I advise you guys to sort out the admin side before attempting a broadcast. You should have used the TEST RACE to test the admin stuff, and not broadcast it. Some of your errors were very silly, and I'm sure they could have been avoided if you had not been doing commentary at the same time...
If you sort out the admin side, then think about broadcasting again, but for now I would try and ensure that you retain as many of the sign ups as possible by sorting out admin procedures, otherwise you could end up with no participants and a broadcast that will not be watched by anyone. It's a promising start, and now it is time to make it work. Your next move is vital.
Yeah, many apologises, was due to the fact that I couldn't hear Eimantas because of our Vent problems. Sometimes I had the feeling I was commentating alone, very awkward.
