Car: Stock Car FXO (Bob's edited NASCAR mod).
Registration: Please take note that this league was founded to emulate stock car racing. Therefore, triple digit numbers are not allowed. Short track numbers (these include lettering, i.e. 35e) are not allowed either. Only standard numbers from 0-99 are allowed. Leading zeros are also allowed. So the #07 and the #7 are considered two different numbers.
Car registration will be in the following manner:
Real first and last name:
Username:
Car Number:
Team:
Racer Name: During the race, a racer must set their playername in the format as follows: ## - Fi.Last, where # is your racer number, Fi is first initial of real name, and Last is last name of real name. Also, ## and - must be in white, not the default color, but the rest of the name can be any color you would like. An example properly formatted name: 36 - K.Burns
Qualifying: Race Classification will be run very similar to the real life NASCAR. Qualifying will be opened for a long period of time (7h) to try and accompany as many people as possible. Some info:
Qualifying Session:
Friday 17:00 GMT - 22:00 GMT
Oval: Each driver will get TWO timed laps. (1 outlap, 2 flying laps and 1 inlap.)
Circuit: Each driver will get ONE timed lap. (1 outlap and 1 flying lap.) At the end of the flying lap, the driver must spectate as soon as possible.
Each registered driver will have only 1 chance to put in a time. No exceptions. If the driver messes up the lap, he will have to continue to complete the lap regardless.
Provisional Points: On tracks with the standard 32 car grid, the top 24 in points will be locked in the race. Cars outside of the top 24 will need to qualifying on time if more than 31 drivers show up.
On the autocross short ovals, the last provisional position would be reduced to the top 10.
Skins: Skins MUST be submitted before you start qualifying. Failure to do so will result in the driver starting at the back of the grid. Wearing the wrong skin in qualifying will result in the same penalty. Wearing the wrong skin in the race will result in a time penalty after the race.
Race: The Race will start on Saturday 18:00 GMT. Drivers must be present before 17:45. (Preferably 17:30.) Failure to do so will result in the driver having to start at the back of the grid. If the driver arrives on the server after the pace laps have started he will not be allowed to participate.
Disconnection: Disconnections will be regarded as "technical failures". Once a disconnection occurs the driver will not be allowed to rejoin.
Start: The race will be a double file rolling start on ovals. Race restart will also be a double file restart with lapped cars on the INSIDE of the lead laps cars. On road courses, there will be double file starts but single file restarts.
Green Flags: On the issue of starts and restarts, the track will be clear once the Green Flag is waved. You do not need to wait until you pass the start finish line to pass. HOWEVER, you must be reasonably ordered before the green flag is waved. Any attempts to pull along side the car in front of you to gain an advantage or strange maneuvers that will disrupt the formation before the green will be penalized.
Cautions: This is a very touchy subject and we know that past events and leagues who have used a strict protocol to caution periods have been met with mixed results. Therefore, instead of having a strict protocol that might leave some loopholes, the admins of I-SCAR will retain the rights to bringing out the yellow flag. Generally speaking, if there is two or more cars involved in an accident on an oval, a caution will come out. Sometimes a caution will come out for a solo car spinning for risk of a flat tire (especially if the car spins from the front of the field) or if there's a single blow out. But the admins will try to use their best judgment on when to wave the yellow flag. But please keep in mind that the admins aren't perfect.
On circuits the first 5 laps will not see a yellow flag unless there's a 8 or more car pile up. After then laps, the conditions for waving the yellow flag will be normal again. Towards the end of the race, the caution will not wave with 3 laps to go.
Safety Car Speed: 60 mph.
Pits: During a caution the pits will be immediately closed. Anyone who enters the pit while it is closed will be forced to restart at the tail end of the longest line, regardless if that line is the lapped car line or lead lap car line. TAIL END OF THE LONGEST LINE...PERIOD. We understand that cars who are damaged from a crash might need to pit immediately. Therefore we will not assign a drive through penalty for entering the pits while it is closed.
Closed Pit: In normal circumstances the pits will close immediately after the caution flag waves. Cars that are too damaged to continue MAY PIT DURING CLOSED PIT, however they will need to start at the back of the line. Normally the admin will direct the cars to the back, however, if the admin misses it and the car is found to have stayed in front of the pack. That car will be assigned a penalty upon post race review.
Anyone can pit when the pit is closed however, they will take the penalty of starting at the end of the longest line. Please keep in mind that this may mean you need to start behind the lapped cars line if the lapped cars line is longer.
Mandatory Pitting: Any compulsory pits that a race mandates must be followed. Please read every Pre-Race report to note if there will be a mandatory pit or not. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
DNFs: If your car is so heavily damaged in which you cannot make it to the pits. Simply indicate to the admin a request to retire and park somewhere out of the racing line on the track. NO SUDDEN SPECTATING IS ALLOWED WITHOUT THE ADMIN'S PERMISSION. While we encourage all drivers to try and see the race to the end, we also ask the drivers to show good judgment on whether it is time to call it a day or not. Remember, we reward those who finish on the lead lap, but we do not punish any DNFs. If you come to the point where you pose a potential great hazard to the field. Then please retire. We will not hesitate to wave the Black Flag and pull drivers out of the track. This also applies to drivers who want to leave for any reason - please ask first!
Contact and Bump Drafting: This is a closed wheel stock car series. Bumping will be allowed, however if an accident is caused from bumping drafting, it will most likely be deemed the bumper's fault. These cars can bump, but because of the unstable nature of bump drafting, it will be discouraged. Contact will also be let go. But keep in mind, major or malicious contact will not be tolerated. The admin will hold the right to black flag any driver they deem to be either too dangerous or too aggressive.
Chatting: There will be NO CHATTING during qualifying (when a person is doing his qualifying run) or race conditions. Setups, strategy, whatever, should be discussed OUTSIDE of league conditions (i.e. vent). Admin messages, replys to admins and requests to leave etc. are allowed however. A driver will have 2 chat warnings, after that, the driver will be removed from the race.
Position Disputes: Please keep in mind that the admins are only human. Therefore we cannot see everything on the track and mark positions with 100% pinpoint accuracy. We'll be using LFS's tracking system to decide positions. If you are not marked by LFS as ahead of the car in front of you even if you have a bumper in front of him? Sorry, we can't and won't check every single pass especially on ovals. Please listen to the admins on your position if you have a dispute. Also keep in mind that the admins will ONLY look at disputes. Anything undisputed will not be checked
Lapped Cars: Leaders and lead lap cars, please keep in mind that while the lapped cars have an obligation to watch their maneuvers around lead lap cars, the lapped cars HAVE THE AUTHORIZATION TO FIGHT ANY LEAD LAP CAR OR THE LEADER. Merely because each lapped car will be racing for the lucky dog position and or getting back on the lead lap. However, if a lead lap car is take out by a lapped car, decisions will lean towards the lead lap car. So...while the blue flag isn't anything more than a warning that lead lap cars are around you in this series, you still need to exercise good judgment On restarts the lapped cars will be lined up in THEIR RESPECTIVE POSITIONS. If you are a car 3 laps down and are ahead of a car 1 lap down when the caution comes out, you will be asked to give way to that car. Just listen to the admin when he lists the lapped down car's positions and follow. We know this may sound a little unfair, but if you are 3 laps down you really have no business trying to stop cars from getting the lucky dog or fighting to get a lap back anyway.
Race End: The race DOES NOT end after everyone has crossed the chequered flag. Once everyone is finished all remaining competitors will TAKE ONE INLAP INTO THE PITS IN A CALM MANNER. Any contact after the chequered flag can and will be judged as harshly as contact during the race. Finish your race, go to the garage, pick a stall and spectate once you are in the stall. NO ANTICS PLEASE. After this has happened, the race will have ended and chat will be open. The winner is allowed to do burnouts after the race.
Amends: A driver can make amends to mistakes he makes on track. If, for example, you pass before the green flag, but give that position back, you will not be penalized. Same case goes for avoidable contact. If a driver appears truly sorry for any poor conduct and it is shown on track, the admin will be more lenient.
Admin Judgment: The admin WILL hold the right to punish for incidents that are not specifically specified in the rules or protocol. All admins will be reasonable and we feel that we do not have to be lawyers and specify every incident and protocol that would warrant admin judgment Competitors should be familiar with league conduct and protocol. Just keep your head cool and don't get in any questionable situations and you'll be fine. Again, we'll try to be as reasonable and objective as possible but the admin will hold the right to punish a competitor for anything he sees fit.
Judgment Severity: Usually, admins will give one warning for aggressive driving. After that, there will be a Drive through penalty. A drive through penalty has to be served within 5 laps of it's assignment and failure to do so will result in a stop/go penalty. Further non compliance will result in the competitor removed from the track.
Protesting: Protests should be lodged in the appropriate protest thread that is created after every round. Protests must be submitted no later than 24 hours after the end of the race. After this time frame, the protest thread will close and protest reviewing by the admins will commence. A racer who has a protest against themselves can reply, while also quoting the protest, to the protest explaining their side of the incident. This is not required, but can help speed the admin's decisions.
Please note that these rules aren't necessarily final and changes and additions might occur in the future.
