Mirror LOD to 0.3. And tweak your MIP settings in game to get one that looks right for you - I think I use 80% to the right (I forget the number, about 0.5 I think).
Hello Everbody
I am not that great when it comes to getting the best out of my 7800gtx in regard to best looking graphics. I have followed these posting pretty well though.
For better looking graphics
Antialiasing is 4x better then 2x
Anisotropic again is 4x better then 2x
I have in the Performance Settings put High Quality on
Just what is Vertical Svnc and should i have it on or off.
Go Easy on me Guys i am not as young as most of you
I would go with 16x AF.. the 7800GTX can handle it NO problem and it looks a lot better.
Also experiment with this setting- negative LOD bias.. clamp.
I like it much better set to clamp- it gets rid of all that horrible texture shimmering. Not seen in screenshots- need to see it live in person to really notice the difference, and it is a HUGE difference.
Also- Gamma correct antialiasing - ON
Transparency antialiasing - ON and set to supersample.
Force mipmaps - trilinear
That's what you bought that fast video card for- might as well turn up the eye candy.
BWX and Nurse.
Thank you both very much. I will muck around with the AA and AL and the rest and see how i get on. Then get brave enough to do a little more. Yes i believe its a great card hope so as it cost me nearly two weeks wages
I Know you wont mind if i ask a few more what might seem simple questions to you later on.
Cheers Guys
Danny
If you have something like NVIDIA 7800GTX you can set even 8xAA+16AF and it will not affect your framrates at all.
Will a small hack with help of program called Rivatuner you cant set up your AA(it smooth edges) up to 16xAA and it will affect minimally framrates drop in LFS with 7800GTX.
Thanks Sweet and Devil
In fact have powerstrip to put on my computer but at first want to get it right in the Nvidia setup then i will try using my powerstrip which i bought.
But a little more help needed first please. I made a profile up its called LFS its now in the right hand active box. But how do i get the correct LFS exe file into the application box, as right now i have global settings in that left hand box. Is it possible for someone to walk me through it in simple terms honest i have tried for ages but cant do it.
If i cant get the profile right if i change the global settings to what i need for that game does that mean that when i start the game normal from my desktop shortcut that that would do the trick. Then i could just change it back when i finished playing.
Again Thanks in Advance
First you need to set it to "global driver settings" on the right box..
Then you need to press the button under that- "add profile"
Then you need to name the profile in the box that pops up- "LFS" works..
Then you need to browse for your LFS EXE ....
Then in the list of games in that same box- UNCHECK the top "global driver setting" box.. Then go check the LFS executable box..
Then you hit OK and then you are back to the driver setting control panel..
On the right box- find the LFS profile... Then set up all the options.. make sure you see the "advanced view"...
Now on the top left box it will not yet have "LFS" in there- you must run the program one time and then shut it off to see that.. at least on my PC that's how it works.
If you want to adjust a setting in the control panel, just check the box.. if you don't want to adjust is manually, leave it unchecked.
Now you will not have to adjust it manually every time.. It will automatically load that profile for that game when you run LFS.. Or any other game you set up the same way.

Thank you for taking the time out to help me. All is well and the game looks great now. I Hope to leave you alone at least for a while now.
Thanks again
