My red tint spray arrived in the post today, so off i went....
Sidecutters, chopped off the wiring at the base of sticky out foglight that i didnt like after i unscrewed it, and threw in the bin.
Then i chopped off the wires from the bulb holder for the reverse bulb as far from the holder as i could, a couple of spade connecters later and a quick test, wiring sorted.
So next, how to make the white bit red.... i didnt really want to spray the outside of the lense so i decided to try and pop the plastic bit out from the inside, but no, it wouldnt budge, then it dawned on me what to do...
Tint spray in the boot and spray it into the hole for the bulb through the back of the cluster, then wait and repeat a couple of times, it worked but was kind of see through still in places with the light on, so i tried to spray the clear bulb red, which worked, but then red started to blister and smoke began to come off the bulb so it was red, but not quite red enough.
So i ended up having to do a small amount of spraying on the outside of the lense and hey presto, jobs a good'un!
Before and after pics....
All i need to do now is fill the hole where the wire was, tidy up the rusty mess and remains of a eunus badges gluey gunk on the rear panel, and the slight overspray around the edge of the light, but overall, piece of cake.
I have also had a very good offer from a guy who comes into where i work, who was a proffesional sprayer for several years, he even sprayed for rolls royce at one point, and he has told me that if i buy the primer, paint and lacquer of my choice, and find a place indoors with electricity that can be used for a few days then he will fully prep and spray the entire car for me,and all he asks is that i buy him a pint sometime in return, which is excellent!
