Beat you by 2 years (am thankful that we're both lived to talk about it)
I nearly suffocated on April 12, 1985. Umbilical cord, neck, deep blue skin.
I have scary moments every other day going to work on my bike, since somehow I become invisible to all taxi drivers, mommy-driven SUVs and ****s on 4 wheels.

That happened to my nephew who is only now 3-4months old also happened when my dad was born and he was born April 13 :P
I've had a scary moment too.
When I first tried out my new kart. I only had slick tires with me and it was pouring like a madman. So the view was quite limited. First few laps. Aaaalright this is going well ! So then I went a bit faster. I came up to T1 with quite some speed. ( T1 at that track is a hairpin ). And I was braking way toooo late. So I felt that the kart became almost weightless and started skidding. Then I tried to keep it in a straight line whilst driving straight onto a gravel trap. I was thinking, well there goes my new kart. But then the kart made a sudden tank slapper and I lost alot of speed by it and I was able to make it safely into the gravel trap. My bumper JUST touched the tire wall!
God that was fun though.

Same thing happened to me too.

Talking of drowning in water, i remember one time when i was about 5 years old. I was on holiday down the south of england on the beach, swimming about. I got caught in the tide, and it started pulling me away from the coast. It wasn't a strong tide, but due to my small size, i wasn't strong enough to pull myself back in. I managed to stay above the surface though, and just waited until the tide let go. Eventually it did, but i was really far away from where my parents were. It took me ages to get back to them, and they didn't even notice i was gone!

:sadbanana

A similar thing happened, again down the south of england, when i was about 8. I had one of those small inflatable dingy things for children. I was messing about in it with a mate. We then got tired and decided to just lay down and relax. We both fell asleep, and when we eventually woke up, we couldn't even see any beaches. Just lots of rocks. We managed to paddle back to the coast, and it turned out we drifted around 10 miles away from where our parents were. We managed to follow a hiking path, which eventually took us past the beach. This time, our parents realised we were missing, and had a huge search party out looking for us, including a sea rescue chopper. That experience really scared me. It was horrible waking up, and not seeing ANY coast; just water. It was like that film "Cast Away"

Try watching it happen to your own son. Not pleasant. At least you weren't particularly aware of it at the time

He's fine now
Yeah, I've since learned it's fairly common, particularly as evidenced by the responses here. I always kinda wondered what effect it may have had on me, if it might explain a thing or two.

Good to hear it.
People who come out with umbilical cord around their neck I think is a symbol of a really strong person, my dad is very strong mentally and has saved peoples lives due to his quick thinking and stuff like that of course I would say that tho as he is my dad, but he saved my brothers live because he swallowed a small toy and my dad had to beat it out of him. He saved my sisters life when she fell in a lake as a child. I think it's a good sign, infact the birth of my latest Nephew was identical to my fathers birth and my brother watched it all happen and watched his little face turn blue, glad it wasn't me there or I would be panicking like hell, must be tough anyway as theres nothing a father can do other than say words.
