Need Setup CD (iso) for a router!
needed for Thomson TG585v7.
ive searched all over the web, but no luck.
only found one iso, but thats one from a specific isp which is of no use for me.
so if anyone has the original thomson cd, or does know where to get it, it would be very nice!
Why don't you have it?
Or: Where have you bought the router?

its not for me, but a friend of mine.
she got it all pre-installed when setting up the internet.
pretty stupid, but its just as it is
what do you need it for? just plug everything in and go to http://192.168.2.1 or whatever ip address the router needs to get to the web interface.
the router isnt reachable without configuring the pc via setup first, i tried.

i've never used those disks, ever... the last time i unpacked a router, i took the "use the cd first" sheet and threw it out, and then flung the cd across the room like a frisbee.
i never had to use it either, but this one wont detect the laptop, tried 2 cables, so i doubt its a faulty cable.
also, it worked fine on another network (she just got it back).
must be a wrong configuration...and only god knows what thomson has done with this router.
u cant even get access via the normal 192.168.1.1, u actually need a url which i only found through google...

Probably because it's not 192.168.1.1, but default on it is 192.168.1.254 (if it hasn't been changed) (source page 21).

I installed those as part of my job awhile back and not one modem needs the cd, you just need to check the ip to the gateway DHCP gave (or lookup it in the manual if DHCP is disabled or it's in bridge mode) and the password to the web interface.
Use the reset to defaults button on the router. After this it should be reachable via http://192.168.1.254.
Also the routers DHCP-Server should be running, so you do need to put your pc be hand in the routers subnet, simply change your pc's tcp/ip setup to automatic.
its fixed now and working....as it turned out, her isp set only 1 port to internet, the other 3 for tv
thanks for the help anyways
