Someting I found browsing through a tuner forum, nice time-lapse video

Quote :After having a serious crash at practice at the Petit LeMans, the crew at Highcroft Racing rebuilt the Patrón Highcroft Acura in less than 24 hours

Very nice, didn't they go and crash it in the race as well?
Pretty impressive video!
Quality work
Was a crazy wreck, too.
thats one way to compete in a 24h race

not that unheard of though back in the days when cars were still allowed to limp around the track for just one lap at the end of 24h after hours upon hours of repairs just to show up in the results
But they're not actually building it, but merely assembling it... Not that it isn't a feat in itself, but I rather thought that someone was really building such a vehicle from scratch, so I was actually somewhat disappointed by the still awesome video.

I don't think you understand just how many individual parts are on one of those things... it's not like building IKEA furniture.

You build a house from bricks, to qualify as building a house, do you have to fire the bricks yourself?

Not as many as on an F1 car, and it's not unheard of for a team to switch tubs over the course of a weekend.

That said, it's still interesting to watch and compare with the build at work.

Depends. A prefab house is certainly assembled, as the whole thing already is done and just has to be put together.
Using traditional methods, the final product isn't set and prone to chnage during bulding, thuis you build it.
Wow! This is an amazing video! Too bad they wrecked it!

I'd imagine the part count isn't too different between the two; but in eithe rcase, an F1 team has a lot more people working within it to re-build the car, anyways.

Both feats are impressive all the same, though.
Check out that guy in the cockpit he seems like his in there forever. Respect for doing that shame it crashed the next day
