1: Your licence is perpetual (forever). You pay once and you have it.

2: I haven't played rFactor, so I can't say on this. Others would be better handled to answer this one.

3: For starters, with an S2, you get skin uploads, all current cars (about 20 some more I think it is) and tracks (6 more environments in addition to Blackwood), you can use autocross objects and layouts, you can race in some excellent leagues, and generally have a better time.

4: There are no real "Mods" in the rFactor sense....no additional tracks to download (excepting layouts), no additional cars. There are texture mods and other graphical mods available, under the "Additional Files" section, with "Unofficial Addons" and that lot. They're generally easy to install, and if you do have problems, just ask in that item's thread or look for how to do it.

5: You get a skin template (either the default skin file in /data/skins or you can get a skinning kit from Master Skinnerz for one, and simply edit in Photoshop/GIMP/etc, save as a jpg, and upload to LFSWorld. There are tips and stuff on how to do that in the Car Skins section if memory serves.

Hope this helps you out !

dekojester hit the nail on all of them. If you want raw, good feedback for a wheel, LFS will be far better then rFactor. Any other aspect i think LFS is better, but thats just opinion, not fact!

1 payment forever

Quote :2. Whats better online play ( realism ) rfactor or lfs

There are two ways to play, pickup racing where you just fancy a race and logon, and leagues at a set date/time. In rFactor pickup racing is of a much lower quality than LFS. Leagues are much the sameness. This is due to the way that in LFS if you are banned from a server then your account is banned, but in rFactor you can reconnect when your IP changes so there is no penalty for driving like an idiot.

Quote :3. what do i get my buying an s2 license, cars and tracks?

LFS.net has this in more detail, but you get a larger selection of cars, single seaters, GT cars etc, and a load of tracks.

Quote :4. What mods are available and are they hard to install?

LFS is very healthy for mods, but not for content mods. There are no additional cars or tracks, but there are lots of mods for the program itself to do new things. The cars/tracks mods do give rFactor a better immersion in single player, but you'd be hard pushed to get an online race in most of the mods.

Quote :5. How to i create skins for lfs.

You create an image, using templates from masterskinnerz usually, then upload it to the LFS servers, it will then automatically appear for everybody else.

Quote :6. Are custom replays difficult to make?

Ones with fixed camera positions? Replay files can be set to save automatically and you can easily make a video using something like Fraps, but LFS doesnt allow you to save camera positions into your replay files like some sims.

I agree with everything said in this thread so far, except with this statement. That is just a lie. It is no secret that LFS' FFB and the general feel is very bland and sterile and actually leagues behind rFactor, nKp and I'm guessing iRacing as well. I'm willing to bet my money that you haven't tried getting to know some quality rFactor mods, 'cause if you had then you wouldn't make such a bold - and false - statement.

But to answer the OP's question, LFS is definitely better value for money, no question about it
thanks guys nice feedback, is there a step to step guide how to add add ons into the game and how to add templates and do your own skins anywhere?

"Add ons" are generally very easy to "install". You usually just replace some files, and that's it. You'll find guidelines on how to do it in each add on's seperate thread, normally, and otherwise just ask, you'll get your answer in no time.

For skinning you can take a look here. You'll need Photoshop or Gimp or some other decent image editing software, though. You can then download the skin kits which are basically just templates. You edit the image the way you want to, save it as a .jpg and put it in the skins folder and voila, presto. You also have to upload the skin to LFSWorld if you want others to see it, but that's pretty self explanatory as well.

Really, just look around a bit yourself and you'll find what you're looking for. These things shouldn't be relevant to make your decision on whether to buy a license or not, as it's all really very simple.

Help me please guys.
