its not like the electric supercharger idea is bad in principle and hes also right about the turbo comming at a cost (and thats without factoring in the intake obstruction and additional intake length a turbo causes at low revs)
hes just grossly underestimating the power needed to compress the masses of air an engine will swallow
i vaguely remember that there was some ww2 plane that had a supercharger which was just there to give the engine enough power to spool the turbo
