Modify on automatic clutch on lfs
Lot of people use autoclutch on lfs.
This is common on other sims too, because usually wheels have 2 pedals.

However the first thing that i noticed when i came here from GTR is that during gearshifting with automatic cluch u can continue to use FULL THROTTLE without any problem, because after 1 sec of overrevving (im not using any help, only autoclutch), it automatically lower your throttle level and increase it for allowing the gearshift.

In GTR, that use autoclutch too, you need to leave the throttle for a sec during gearshift, and this is much more realistic, because protect the engine from overrevving and in case of a third pedal u would use this time for press the pedal clutch.

Why don't lfs implement this kind of autoclutch? It will be much more realistic then continuosly press the throttle, and it will obbligate people on not extremely overrevving during braking, but making only a correct sized blip, as done in real race car that use sequential gearboxes, if want to use engine braking.
well .. none of that has been worked on since the beginning of lfs (also the reason why we cant stall cars)

but.. dont need 3 pedals for a clutch, there is a clutch button you know

but all that clutch stuff and stalling and whatnot .. just needs to get fixed
I agree, and never really though of it myself either. Even with the autoclutch engaged, the throttle never is 'blipped' between gear shifts.

I think the techniques used to shift in LFS are all botched up to be honest. Shifting has never been completely real in LFS, and neither is the way the clutch works (shifting isn't correct, no jolting, and like XC said.. we cannot stall our car). Not to mention, people are still using button clutch these days, and it is so fake, it makes me wonder if the shifting will ever get fixed.

Also, for such a feature, I think we need our engine damage back!!! Engine damage was nice to have, and now for most cars it doesn't happen, it sucks.
Good to hear, hope will get fixed soon, this aspect is a big problem imho, is not at the level of the rest of the game (except sound )

The problem is with the clutch itself, auto or manual it does not matter.

In LFS it is impossible to stall the engine. Because of this bodges have to be made to make sure the engine does not stall, even with manual clutch. You will find LFS will dip the clutch when it needs to etc.

So even when you have manual clutch you never really have manual clutch.

This is all linked in with race starts as well. I hope it becomes possible to stall the car soon and that we get real race starts where you are not held in place until the lights are green. We have black flags now so everything else is in place, we just need engine stalling.
the behaviour in lfs is realistic for it's current state. You can hold the throttle flat on a gearchange in any car, with a slow revving engine or a rev limiter you will not do engine damage, you'll just cause a lot of clutch wear, which is currently not modelled...

I never noticed this behaviour of throttle. Are you using throttlehelp? Also keeping the throttle at full during up shifting in corners will destabliize your car which is realistic I think. Also upshifting with full throttle without throttlecut will damage the engine on several cars but not all.

Some engines are very strong in lfs and some get destroyed fast, just as in real live Only part missing, engines being blown up, which happens a lot of times in lower race classes as lx4 and lx6 because amateur racers do make shift errors

U completely missed my point.
I'm not using any help, (except autoclutch as i said), but i can (i dont do however, i dont like it) and i have seen other people do downshifting from 5 to 2 with fox for example during braking with enormous overrevving not damaging their engines.

And however u are speaking of another thing:

This depend on your settings of clutchpack and of Bf1 tractioncontrol, is not the thing that i intended.

I mean this:

Try it with fox, v8, bf1, xfr... all these car does not damage at all.
Which car suffer of overrevving damage?
try doing it for 10 laps in the bf1 and have a listen to the popcorn noises the engine makes...

Lot of times online i have done 10/15 laps with bf1 and no problems like this.
However i will try offline too.
I've overreved the FXR a few times, listened to the pop of the engine, put fuel in it and that fixed the miss....
