"Historic" tyres to go with the LX4 and LX6
Hi,

I have always admired 70's and 80's performance cars and I really thought that before the patch, the LX4 and LX6 were those sort of cars. They could be steered by throttle and it felt great, especially in the LX4. The tyres prior to the patch didn't quite grip well enough for the '6 though. I'd really like a tyre compound as an option in both these cars (Road_Super's still being available) to make them tough to drive again. Obviously the cars will be faster on Road_Super's, so most people would take Road_Super's in a race given the choice but the availability of those tyres could be a server option. It could give seekers of a really challenging road car drive with no downforce (otherwise know as real men :tilt exactly what they want .

Any thoughts?
How do you feel about the "road normal" tires? Too easy as well?

I have tried Road_Normal's... its not so much about how easy they are to drive (Road_Normal's are still pretty easy - they have less grip overall but they are pretty simmilar to drive), but about the driving style you need to be fast. You had to slide gently through corners before... now its grip and understeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer. And having a server option to force the use of a specific type of tyre would certainly be nice. What "historic" tyres need is less lateral grip and about as much longitudinal grip as now. By now Scawen should know what made tyres prior to the patch handle like they did so I don't think it will take all that long to implement... they should just be a biiiiit more grippy than they were before to make the LX6 work.
I had the same problem as you axus. Understeer, some more of it and on top of that, even more of understeer. Now, after a 10 and 30 lap race on town course, my problems are gone! I'm tail happy again!!

Sorry but the old LFS physics didn't behave anything like any car should on historic tires.
you need a better set... I find the new physics encourage sliding more, with the forward and sidewards tyre forces seperated a little more.

erm, NO!
Maybe you're still running on a old set, which were mainly set up to produce as much understeer as possible to make the LX cars drivable. If not, well you can still try to mount road supers to the front and road normals to the rear.
Just use hybrids!
