Just a quick question to anyone in the know.

I got kicked from a well known server for being in breach of a server rule which states that there is to be no weaving on the straights. In real life is this rule also true?

For example, on lap 6/6 on BL GP on chicane exit, if my opponent is trying to slipstream to overtake on the straight do I not have the right to avoid this by moving and changing line?

You're allowed to make one move, but no weaving.

damn!

thanks.

...is not fair though...
You can move once offline, and then back to where you were before. It's not an actual rule in real life racing, but it's gentlemanly conduct that most drivers adhere to, and rightly so. Weaving is dangerous!

...you see this is where people start shouting "HES WEAVING HES WEAVING BAN BAN KICK BAN"...Changing line 3-5 times the length if BL GP straight is hardly weaving is it!

That's still quite a lot of direction change, and I definitely wouldn't be happy if someone did it to me!

Yes, that's weaving And I'd probably pit you if you did that to me

Actually, it is a rule in many, many real life racing series.

= I am faster than the above n00b
Well obviously it was a hypothetical situation I'm definitely not very fast
The one-move rule does not allow you to move back. I have no idea why people seem to think it does, even ITV cleared up things for the confused with their crappy Brundle vs. Blundell bits t'other year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v ... next_from=PL&index=37 @2:40

If you move off the line to defend, you really cannot reassume it before the corner, that is the dangerous part! If you move to cover the inside, then you have to leave space or at the very very least one car width on the outside because the assumption is that you have forced the chasing driver to use that line and there is also a good chance that there is some overlap. If you move back to the outside before the corner after your one-move and there is any contact at all, it is 1000% your fault, you shouldn't be there. If you do it just before you both hit the brakes and you get nerfed, it's 1000% your fault. Yes, people will drift back over cautiously if they can, but to suggest that you're allowed to do one complete and postive zig and zag whenever you're defending into a corner is wrong.

Weaving to break a tow is totally different to a defensive move to "block" an overtake though. It's not dangerous if you're aware of what is around you since the cars are generally a considerable distance apart anyway. It does look stupid and only works if you weave to such an extent that you slow yourself down though

...I'm even more confused now(not surprisingly, after all it's me you're talking too!).

If it's not moving to block or defend then does it fall under the same rule?
i usually let them pass early, then re slipstream them and take them on the inside. otherwise i try and pass them on the remaning corners. theres plenty of opportuinity. weaving is bs in my opinion heh

No. I dont think it does. But like you have said, in your case you were blocking another racer trying to pass you, which is not allowed.
