Sorry for asking this here on LFS forums but i tried a few other places and didnt get responses...sooooo

I have a strange problem on my XP....certain applications that I start cause an error message like

16 bit Windows Subsytem

C:\Windows\System32\Config.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

Close Ignore
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Any clues ????

How old are these applications? Windows XP won't run 16-bit applications any more, which is what the error message looks like, but I'm just taking a guess.

copy the relevant file (config.nt in this case) out of windows\repair into windows\system32
