Updated to SP2, LFS wont even runs, "says LFS.exe has stopped working" rolled back PC to restore point B4 SP2 and was fine.

Reinstalled LFS + SP2, LFS has stopped working

Rolled back again, all ok.

Vista Performance says 5.7.

The health report is massive, not sure how to post it.

The first bit looks like this.

Try to find out the crash address.
There should be a more info button or something like that on the crash alert window.

Which drive does windows currently use for virtual memory? Just wondering as 2 of your drives are apparently low on space (my vista 32 starts doing some weird shit when the VM gets low)
Reinstall chipset and graphics drivers.

When I updated to SP2 it broke my audio driver (no sound at all), but Windows was telling me everything was fine.
I have pretty much the same system as your self and whilst i only put LFS on again today i did have the same problem, i re downloaded it, extracted to desktop and moved the extracted files to c/program files x86 then ran the setup from there and it all works no problems.

Have been running it off the desktop too until now, will try another fresh lfs install in c/program files x86. Makes sense really everything else runs from in there.

Thanks for the input. Fingers crossed.
Makes no sense. Ran great on my Vista 64 bit...
Tried it in program files x86, made no difference.

Once SP2 is installed lfs.exe has stopped work.

GGGRRRR!!!
try to see if itsn't Data Execution Prevention's (DEP) fault...

Tried updating your video/soundcard/monitor drivers since sp2 was installed?
Quote from Pdunni :Tried it in program files x86, made no difference.

GGGRRRR!!!

Hhmmmm v strange my system is almost identical i.e E8400, 4Gb reaper ram, P5N-D mobo, 260gtx, vista x64 with sp2! and its fine *sctratches head*
Stupid Q but each and every driver is updated to the lastest yes? inc bios?

Are you running it through the G25 profiler or shortcut?
All drivers recently updated yes, Audio, gfx and mobo chipset etc

Bios no, not yet, cant remember how to do it got the dig the mobo manual out, i'm on 1201 and checked the asus site and there upto 1801 now, might try that next.

Its so annoying.
up dated bios too, still no go. STill fine if rolled back to before SP2.

Dont know if anyone understands this, but if you do might help.

Update!!

Reinstalled vista 64, what a pain that was.

Reinstalled all the latest drivers etc

Installed a billion vista updates including SP1 and SP2

Still faulty

Fault traced to some kind of mismatch with my G25 steeringwheel and my cheap and nasty speedlink black widow joystick, that I use on flight sims etc.

Even plays up when I went to the trouble of making my system dual boot with XP. Similar problems.

G25 pluged in and logitech profilers installed and the joystick starts to play up. IL2 wont load or wont allow configuration of axis etc. remove teh Logitech stuff and joystick fine. Likewise remove the joystick stuff and G25 and LFS work perfectly.

Looks like I might have to buy a logitech joystick.

Need to reinstall FSx and do some test with that first before I shell out again.

Does anyone know who to edit what is controller ID1 and ID2, that might help. Regardless of what order they are connected the G25 is always ID1 and the stick always ID2.

Thanks to all who contributed.
