I'm pretty sure whether a host is Demo, S1 or S2 is no longer determined by the mode-setting but by the cars, track and maxguests/carsmax configuration, the only way to make sure only S2 licensed users can access the server is to allow an S2 car, change to an S2 track or to set the maxguests higher.

Any server that runs with demo content [i.e BL1/BL2+XFG/XRG/FBM, a max of 12 people in race and 15 people on server] is considered a demo server

EDIT: Beaten :/

Thanks for help

the problem is resolved
Hello,
i have a problem too.

When i create a server by lfs dedi, i can't join my own server. But other pilot can join it.
Otherwise when i create directly by lfs, i haven't got any problem.
For information, my port 29999, 29339 and 63392 are open.

I don't find where is the problem.
Can you help me?
If i remember correctly others will be able to see and join your host online and through the main server list, however for you to join you will need to join via the Lan option in LFS and using your local IP address.

it depends on your router... with mine, i can use any external ip/dns on my internal lan, but not in my dmz.
Other pilot don't see my host on the list but they can join it by "join specific host"

I can join it by "local network" and put my IP address, i never do it before, for me it's not the good solution but it run.

Thanks.

A question from me too... Why i cant connect my Server to the Masterserver? When i set /usemaster=no its working, but when i set it so "yes" the error "Could not connect to Masterserver" comes.

Please help
Max
For the master server i think you have to open the port number 29339 (tcp/udp) on your router.
Quote from neron59 :Other pilot don't see my host on the list but they can join it by "join specific host"

you're either missing one of the ports to forward, or you set /usemaster something other than yes... i'm guessing the latter.

OR, they have a filter that is hiding the server.
Connecting to the masterserver is an outgoing connection, no need to forward anything, but your firewall(s) must not block traffic on the port in question, 29339 that is.

Regarding the whole "why can people connect from the list but I can't?" thing, it's because when a client requests host information from the masterserver, what it receives is obviously the external IP of that server. The client then attempts to connect to this IP address, which the router may or may not handle as expected. The expected behaviour is for the router to "know" that it itself represents the node requested, but also knows that the true intention is to connect to the server behind it.

This can be achieved by enabling NAT loopback, a feature supported by the majority of modern routing hardware, though not enabled by default and often not accessible via the web configuration panel. Use SSH/Telnet to connect to the router, instructions on how to find NAT loopback can certainly be found on the intarwebz, or, if it's a good router, in the manual
My setting about usemaster is on "yes".
For me, the main is i can join my own host and play with my team.
If my host does not appear in the list is not a problem.
Thanks for your answers.
/usemaster=yes = server is being announced to master-list as visible server
/usemaster=hidden = server is being announced to master-list as hidden server (can connect via Join specific game)
/usermaster=no = server doesn't sends any data to master server, including PB's, kilometers driven, laps, wins, etc.
