keyboard pc problem
hey
i got windows 7 and installed it
now my keyboard automatically presses enter at random times
ive tried using different keyboards one is USB and one Ps/2
idk if windows 7 and the problem are related but i think its on the hardware level
when i restarted my computer it automaticly went to bios and was hitting enter
anyone think they can help?
If it happened at boot up aswell it's safe to say it isn't win 7 related.

Pop a screw driver down the side of the enter button, pop it out and check to see if there's any crap in it, or anything making the button stick. Check the numpad enter aswell.

If not, new keyboard for you

The problem seems kinda software related, he said he tried 2 different keyboards.
didn't see the line where he said he used other k/b's, whoopsy
Unplug any peripherals connected on usb...
Hook up only your keyboard... Boot, and check if it still happens.
It might be something completely unrelated to your keyboard.
Maybe it's your wheel, mouse, usb bluetooth/wireless, memory stick, whatever.

If it doesn't happen with only a keyboard attached then hook up the rest one by one. If it does happen you could try booting without anything attached. Make sure to turn off the "Stop on keyboard and mouse errors" setting in your BIOS setup utility or it won't boot.

If it still happens your mainboard may be broken... Get a new one.

Is your keyboard wireless ?

i only have kb, mouse sound and video plugged in as i only plug in my wheel when i play
i had another idea abou what the problem might be the mouse i have pluged in is wireless and a wireless keyboard is on the same usb but the wireless keyboard was running out of batteriesso i just set it to the side and plugged in a wired one as well
the wireless keyboard was facing up so none of the butons were being pressed.
but could the problem been because of 2 keyboards plugged in?

Shouldn't be a problem...
But you should really test it with everything except a keyboard unplugged.
Preferably the wired keyboard one.

It could be because the keyboard was low on batteries and it started messing up the signal.

that might have been it as i didnt have any triple a bateries for my keyboard but my mouse was fine so i just pluged in a second keyboard
the problem stopped just as randomly as it started
thanks to all who contributed
the problem's gone so il just leave it alone for now
Try updating your BIOS if this bug happens later.

where would i find it?
on my motherboard's manufacturers web site
or on microsofts?
Microsoft isn't related to BIOSes at all. So it's your mobo manufacturers site.

BIOS upgrading can enable some locked CPU features aswell (e.g. Intel VT-x).
BIOS updating can also make some other settings worse, like he says atm if it ain't broke don't fix it
