FPS drop when using pedals, no problem when using buttons
Ok, I believe I have had this problem before, but sometimes it seems to dissapear, I didn't thoroughly check this problem before, I would just quit LFS for the time being, as I assumed the problem was overheating of my graphical card (Radeon 9700, but the same issue appeared when I was still using the 8500) due to........ hotter weather..

The issue I'm having is that when I use pedals, the FPS drops to 15, or rather, the game stutters(bursts of no frames I suppose) about every 13 seconds. I usually use 3 wheels, one DFP for steering, two microsoft SW's for footwork. I tried using each of them individually (even hooked up the DFP's pedal set) and every time the same issue appeared. When I tried LFS w/o pedals(with just the DFP, no pedals) the FPS kept stable. The same happens when I select "Buttons" as throttle/brake control, I get stable FPS.

This is probably one of those unsolvable problems again.... I always tend to have those... makes me unable to ever participate in events, quit games, leave societies, lose friends.... *sigh*

Any help (and compassion) will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your help, but this doesn't solve my issue.

In single player I should be able to run at stable fps of at least 40, it maxes out at 60. But that is definitely not the problem in this case, firstly as I still get these fps drops when using the lowest settings possible and secondly since this problem occurs when standing perfectly still.

Or rather just something to add:
I don't think it's the drivers, since the same problems happen with both the microsoft as well as the logitech hardware..

I'm going to try a clean install of LFS or something... and I'll try reinstalling the drivers...
No change when using a clean LFS.. actually, it shows worse numbers on the fps display when my issue occurs than before...
No change with a fresh install of the logitech software either...

This is just so weird... I only get this problem when I use the pedals (or even w/o using pedals but with "Combined" or "Seperate" selected)... and it just flies away when I press "Buttons"

Next thing I'll try is using my wheel as throttle :P let's see what happens..... Nevermind.... The same thing will still happen anyway...
I'm starting to feel like giving up... until I get new hardware...... in a year or 2.. 3... (fresh windows install doesn't seem to help much-since I've had this problem in the past and it just keeps coming back....)

-edit-
Ok, quickly tested something else that came to mind...
I tried using the mouse as throttle/brake (unplugged all wheels)--and the problem persisted... great huh.
Latest motherboard chipset drivers installed?

How are you connecting the pedals? Wheel?
Yes, I'm using the most recent version of everything that would matter... and the pedals are indeed connected trough my wheel(s)..
It has something to do with the communication between the pedals, my computer and LFS...
...
This is a very strange problem, I've never heard of it before, it'd be nice is Scawen saw this thread, maybe he could help.

I had kinda similar problems couple of years ago with GPL. I see that you have the same problem with more than one pedalset so this may not help you but anyways maybe worth checking out.

Every time i braked, fps went down. When I checked my pedals with dxtweak I noticed that pot values got all crazy when braking and that consumed ALOT of cpu time. So I just cleaned my pots and everything was ok again.
I can say, i've had the exact same problem. Only. I fixed the problem when i turned FFB (Force Feedback) on and off. Sometimes the problem comes back, but that is how i fix it for now.
It would be nice if Scawen could help

@Ryder
Well, the problem occurs even when I don't even have my pedals plugged in, so it seems... and I get the problem even when standing still... even so, I'll check the values in DXT! Thanks for the tip!

Yes, I'll try that! That just might do the trick for me as well!
Thank you!
