Motion blur help.
I saw the thread about "edit my screen shot" and i decided to have my first go at it. Went for simple motion blur but i found a problem.
I took original picture duplicated layer, cut the car out, so only car was on top layer. I selected all the car layer, select inverse, selected layer with whole image on and did montion blur but still had part of the car blurred
Ive attached images to show what i mean.
Anyway to stop this?
Thanks in advance.

cough attach the images cough <-- friendly advice
marquee the car, select inverse, do the motion blur, then select inverse again and increase the car size (Ctrl +T) by 2 to 4 pixels to cover the blurred boundary area.

I did think of this, but thought would make car look to big for the scene.
Use the motion blur mod! :P

One more idea: set the camera, take on picture with the car on the screen, and one without the car, then u can just simply blur the "empty" pic.
Still have to cut the car out from the other pic, so the work is about equal , just another way.
This is how I do it.

First you have the 2 layers, motion blur backround with the car cut off and the clear car layer.

Select the Smudge tool

Press and hold shift, then drag the mouse and get some of the blurred area over to the car

Toggle off the blurred layer, and select the car outlines with the lasso tool

Select the blurred layer, hit delete

Voila! No more blurry outlines!

Quite simple.

What i normally do is apply the motion blur, then use the 'Smudge' tool very carefully to erase the unwanted blurred bits of the car.

This sounds simple but in practise it's pretty hard and should only be done if you are patient and a dab hand with your mouse. This way you don't have to change the size of the car (which is kinda silly) or do anything else untoward.

I'd be glad to help out with the edit, but try having a go yourself.. it's all about learning!

EDIT: lol, just noticed Matrixi posted the same technique i use above
THanks for the suggestions
I used the clone tool to get rid of the unwanted blur
I can use photoshop well enough, jsut didnt know if there was a really easy way i couldnt think of lol
