I think one thread about this is enough. Yes, it shows similarities with LFS but as far as I can tell from the comments in the other thread it doesn't feel anywhere similar to LFS.

This makes evaluating the physics near impossible, but from what I can tell they're not *that* bad, at least compared to what such projects usually produce. But where you got the idea from that this thing has anything in common with LFS physics wise is a mystery to me. Maybe you could be fooled if you only use keyboard and thus don't even know how good LFS physics are to begin with. In any way, this program doesn't handle like LFS now, nor like any previous version of LFS.

That thing is physics engine and carx was made just to show off the engine. That project wasn't created for creating a game which would be similar to LFS and everyone would buy it, at least that's my opinion, dunno what developers ment

Racer is pretty messed up imo.
I don't think it's based on LFS' engine... but the game is quite good. I can't set my cockpit view though, anyone else has got this problem?

The FWD crapbox doesn't has cock pit view.
I can't test it but from what I can work out it's the standard Pacejka physics model with a few extra methods to pre-configure it. Like somebody has taken a Mars bar, sprinkled hundreds and thousands on it, then put it in a new wrapper and is selling it to you - except in this case the mars bar was originally free.

Pacejka is the library used by a lot of indi's doing car physics in games that aren't really about cars, it 'suffices' rather than gives you an accurate car physics model - and what this group appears to have done, as far as I can work out, is to set it up for you to make it more useable and intuitive and added some hooks in to give you commonly used data, such as tyre deformation.

I'm making some assumptions in saying this as i'm not in a position to make a more informed judgement, and frankly i've never liked Pacejka either as a programmer or a games player.

Shocking.. you can barely keep the AE86 straight with the mouse.

I can drive fine in LFS with XRT + Mouse..


Then again, XRT isn't a "Drift car"

Someone mentioned nVidia PhysX before is this game for nVidia Graphics Cards?

Because It's not working on here.
Should run on ATi cards.

Ati, Vista x64 here, it works.

It`s crap.
Gives me the error that some DLL is missing (dunno which one I uninstalled it afterwards) and I should reinstall the program.

You're not missing anything.

Just gave it another spin with the drift car and... gosh that's bad. I mean really bad. Seems like the tyres have been magically enchanted to lose most friction as soon as they're sliding sideways.
For a demo, it's okay. I like the Charger they put in there. It does need quite a bit of work, like lighting, the cross randomly in front of your car, the fact the cars bounce off the wall like a bouncy ball, and the fact that they should have made it so YOU do ALL of the driving. Not too bad of a demo, but still needs serious work.
