I have a essay to write in school about any topic. I chose to write about kids who forget their native language. So I ask you if this ever happened to you that you were in a different country and kids didnt speak your language even tho they came from the same country. Please write how you felt and how someone acted ehhh....... (I dont know how to explain it but you know what I mean ) I could wirte the essay without this but I want to know if this happens with kids from different countries, not just Polish ones.
Come on help me, I need to write the essay on Monday. Tell weird situations with those people.

What do you mean? Kids forgetting the language of the country they are currently living in? Or kids that live in a country that they were not born in forgetting the language of the country they were born in?

If it's the latter, then sure... I know plenty of those. It's only natural that you forget large parts of the language if you don't ever actually use it. Funny thing is, they don't forget it truly... It just gets transferred to a part of the memory that is very hard to reach (so they'll forget a couple words at first, then some more, then they start messing up grammar, and then it's completely gone)... When they grow old, the brain starts to rewire and you start forgetting stuff from the recent past... But in reality it's being rewired to parts of the distant past. So very old people with alzheimer's disease very often start speaking their 'born' language, and forget their current language.

Without trying to offent, you could look at the Welsh. There are quite a few there that never were taught the Welsh language and only know English.

Why are they stupid? Is very important that you learn the language of the country you live in. it's up to the parents to help the kids remember the native language. The native language is often used when people tries to express there emotions so if you don't have your native nor the new language those people will end up frustrated because nobody can understand what they feel.

Yes I agree with you, I should of say that parents who let kids forget their language are a bit.illepall But I dont understand what you mean. I'm living in America right now and I speak very good in english and very good in polish. I think there should be no excuse for parents and childrent to not remember their native language. Most of the time its the parents fault. For example: Once I saw a kid talking to his mom in english, she didnt understand it very well but she still let him speak it. It's kind off kids fault too since they could think that their parents dont speak english well and would start speaking native language but they dont.
It all depends Kajojek, I first learned english and then later on my native language.

I know a lot of "kids" that dont know their mother language, doesnt mean they are stupid. Its just easier for them to speak the language they grew up with.
