The online racing simulator
played the demo and very impressed but..
hi,

my first post of many. cant belive how awesome lfs is !

biggest suprise is the graphics, there miles better than any GT2 based game.

really nice.

ok my problem. what setting (as a decent default) for all cars should my G25 wheel be on ?

wheel turn % and compensation ? am i meant to be able to turn the wheel 90deg and the car (first one on the demo that looks like a suzuki) does a full lock ?

id much prefer the wheel to reflect what i do in real life even if that means i only ever use 90deg each way

any help appreciated. i will purchase soon if i can get this answer cleared up.

also whats the default on the demo, i have been playing around and forgot

cheers

phill
The XF GTi's steering wheel turns 720° lock-to-lock.

Compensation should be set to 1.0 (it should be lower than 1.0 only if your wheel's rotation is smaller than car's you are driving AFAIK)
ok thanks

one other quick question.. is the demo featuring the best GFX i.e does it have the 3rd party highres textures ? or can i expect even better when i mod the full version
Demo is full game with limited cars and tracks.
You can try any Hi-Res textures or sounds pack that contains Blackwood or any of the 3 demo cars
ok cheers people.

its a really great game.

how come its not well known ? i see there are about 4 people who made it. is the whole game or scene on the way out ?

i can see a game thats better than any other car game ive played on pc, needs a bit more polish and some nice dx10/11 effects to boot + more cars and tracks. have the devs tried to get backing from a big company at all as it would shift loads of copies

The game is not known because it does not have awesome graphics, or very impresive TV advertisements.

You can't show the physics into videos. Thats way much people never try the game when someone talk about it to them

but it does have awesome graphics.

think about it. what game apart from the very latest forza3 on x360 has anything like these ? im talking pin sharp, realistic look with great resolution. they arent really far off GT5P on PS3. interior is really nice as is exterior ok not as rounded as ps3 but just as detailed texture wise.

im running on a REALLY crap 8600gt gfx card with 256mb. no game i try will really run over 15-20fps with details on, yet im running high settings @ 1080p WAY over 60fps x4 ansi and x2 anti.

can wait to get my new build up and running to get eyefinity on this

the truth is though a pc could do much better gfx than 360 or ps3 now so in that context yes there not state of the art.. but where are the better looking games. NFS shift is great as is Dirt 2 but there is a level of cartoonism to all these games in graphics, including grantourismo
Sorry to go off topic, but how come your join date is from the year 2000?
It's a bug present since new year day

I agree with you on the graphics to a point. It's certainly not the most impressive as far as effects go. But I have yet to play ANY game that pulls off the efficiency that LFS does. With all sorts of high resolution texture packs installed, all settings MAXED and running 1920x1200 or 1920x1080, I have never had any framerate issues even in a packed grid with just a 4870.
