OK. Well, I just bought S2 and I noticed that even though it auto-downloads skins, it's for 1 session only. is there a way for me to automatically download every skin to my harddrive so I can use it?

it will only download the skins in the races you participate in. after a while the number downloaded starts to decrease as your skins_x folder starts to fill, but there are always new ones being uploaded and new members joining. So the answer is no.

They're downloaded permanently, actually. Check your 'data\skins_x' directory for all the downloaded ones. I currently have 3,552 skins weighing in at 233 MB in there

can I use them ingame from that folder? or do I have to move them over?

You have to move them to the skins folder, but beware: not everyone will be pleased about you using their skins. Some are private skins whose owners will have your head for using them without asking first. So ask first

I have to ask every person? I've been on 3 servers in 45 mins and already have about 45 skins! how am i going to ask everyone after one week!

The thing is, what's in skins_x should not be used by yourself because of several reasons, like:

- Most skins are personal or teamskins, therefore you should not use them
- All automatically downloaded skins are 512x512 size therefore bad quality

So stick with public skins that you can find here at the forums, leave the skins_x folder alone. That's my friendly advice.

download some public skins from the forum subsection s here and use them - there's a huge choice of great skins, just find a few you like.
