How a toilet works.

There's a difference between off topic and spam. This is the latter.
What are you talking about? It shows you how a toilet works.
we need a thread about how your brain works, then maybe we can work out why u r posting the workings of toilets on the LFS Forum :P

hey that's awesome. I've always wondered how the water level stays the same all the time, no matter what I "put" in there
domin8r lives!
got a question about toilets concerning the coriolis effect

so if this is true (which i still dont believe.. kinda hard to).. if it is; and you live in the dead center of the equator.. which way does the water go? does it spin around? or no?
I think it does spin around.
XCN wanna take a trip to the equator?

BadCoriolis
I think it was proven to have no effect. It was always go down, and it will spin if the design of the bowl and the flow of the water (including the direction of source) induces swirl.

Try it at home (and I haven't so I may be wrong). Turn on your hot tap and note the direction the water goes down the drain. Then turn on the cold tap and note it's direction. Then fill up the sink, and leave the water for about half an hour to FULLY settle. Then let it go down being very careful not to instill turbulence with the plug.

It will choose a direction to swirl in because of dirt on the sink, flow remaining in the water, slight disturbences from pulling the plug. Use a finger and reverse the flow swirl direction - it will stay in the new direction. If enough LFSer's do this, in as scientific conditions as possible, from all over the world, then we can come up with a definitive scientific paper...

Actually, I recall a program a while back that demonstrated the effect. A guy stood at the equator in some-country, and demonstrated the effect on either side with a bowl of water. Pity he didn't stand on the equator to show it, I suppose.
No, you idiot, just click the link and find out for yourself. Why ask! Really...

Nice thing about the coriolis, makes you wonder if anything you know at all is true.
If I am correct and I am pretty sure I am it was Brainiacs on Sky One that did the water flow test
