Lag...Or not?
Hai dere. I have quite a weird... *cough* problem.

For example, when I go to a cruise server(mkay,no blaming here),I lag quite a bit. At first,I join in and then for about 2 secs,my FPS drops from 40-60 to 0.3. Here's comes the but. For example, when I go to Falken Drift Server(which is a S2 server aswell!),I don't lag at all. As usual,40-60 fps. Same goes for demo server's I've tested. Also I noticed that when LFS runs on the background, I have my normal FPS. Has it got something to do with the fact that I opened the 63993 port(which is used for running a LFS server) and that other port which began with 2****? Sorry,if I misread some threads.

I attached a picture too.

Edit - I forgot to add that my computer doesn't share the connection and I have a 100 MB net.

Framerate lag is totally different from Internet (connection) lag. If you're only getting a low framerate on a cruise server it could be because there are normally lots of layout objects (barriers, tyres, keep left signs etc) on cruise servers. These layout objects increase the CPU load and will slow down your machine.

This has been only for the 2nd day now. And I didn't have it 1 year ago! Oh...and another edit - this only happened in LTC. I made a full restart to my router, which calmed down the ping bar. Also,I only had high ping in LTC.

Second edit - Went back to LTC to see if my "fixing" has done anything. So I noticed that when the shadows weren't loaded when I joined the server(I've got them enabled tho),so I waited for about a minute, then the shadows loaded and everything went back to zero. I tried to disable them when they we're loaded and the lag came, but no luck. Actually,I think that my cooler is beginning to give up. Or just needs dusting,I don't know. Gotta take the PC apart one day.
Maybe is your connection, i cruise in ltc and never have lag problem, and i`m in argentina, where internet conection are crap

Nope,as I said before,I didn't have this never before. It began couple days ago.
Sounds like it could be overheating.

Servers with a lot of players and a lot of autocross objects (like busy cruise servers) will tax CPU and Graphics more than other servers.

Try cleaning dust out of any heatsinks etc and see if that improves things.

You could also try HWMonitor from CPUID to see how hot things are getting.

Cheers for the tip.

Apart from that,I think I got it working. Just had to close the UDP/TCP ports what I opened via the firewall, which I totally forgot.>.< I'll play an hour or two and see does it lag or not.

Edit -I'll see what the temps are tomorrow. My LFS just failed now,I'm suspecting the cooler aswell.

Right. Sorry for a doublepost. I installed SpeedFan.

Temp 1 is at 38 C.
Temp 2 is at 68 C.
Temp 3 is at 36 C.
HDD is at 35 C.

And my fan is rolling at 1985 rpm - 2100 when not running LFS. Gonna do some LFS and see if the temp goes up. I'm really worried about the 2nd temp,because...I just fired up my computer 15 minutes ago and it's already at 68 C!

Edit,14.02.2010 - did a fresh install of LFS,all is ok now.
