(in general, "shaking" might not be an undesired effect. If your wheel is picking up signals from the game to force the wheel in a direction, this is regular "force feedback". but I think you're talking about your comfort with the level of the strength you are experiencing.. correct me on this, if Im wrong)

try reducing the spring strength (i forget what exactly its called) in the Logitech Profiler.. you also might wanna play around with the "return spring" strength (again, not sure if it's called exactly that)
then also try reducing the "force feedback strength" in-game by the "," and "." buttons

centering the wheel in game should be no probem, sounds like a calibration issue. try recalibrating from within the Options - Controls menu (there's a button), or just moving the wheel from limit to limit when in-game.. or calibrating within the Logitech Profiler

I'll check back later, lemme know..
Well, I hope I know what you're talking about.
I've had this wheel until a week ago or so. Worked just fine for it's money.
Here's a few tips on setting up the wheel properly:
In Logitech Profiler, at Force Feedback settings try to set the following values:
-Overall Effects Strength: 100
-Spring Effect Strength: 0
-Damper Effect Strength: 0
The last 2 settings are optional for most arcade games. LFS is a sim and it generates those movements by default.
Also inside LFS, try to set the wheel compensation at 1, this way you'll have much more accuracy on the first 3/4 of the wheel turn.
Your problem could also be caused by lag, so make sure you've got a decent FPS value
Oh, and also, evrytime you enter LFS try to spin the wheel from one end to another, as well as pushing the pedals to the end a few times. This calibrates the wheel inside LFS

I agree.
It's better to have the wheel use 100% power and have the game adjust the "signal strength" of force feedback to suit the driver's comfort (by those , and . buttons). In my experience with other games and this wheel, this setting can cuase the "jerking"...

be good

I've had the same wheel for some time. Malfunctions started early (did not keep the bill >.<) and increased with time. When I finally replaced it, there were multiple faults. For instance not touched all axis showed varying input, though maxing the physical axis out no full input was detected.

That's what I thought about when I read the OP. Sometimes in steering axis there was a very rough change in value (by false measure) which caused the car ingame to steer very hard in a very short amount of time. Together with FFB this could result in some kind of "shaking".
