The Big Moding/Modification Thread (gamewise)
Hello there!

This topic is dedicated to all the moding fans around.

Here we can share opinions, news, releases, sites, downloads to various mods to various games and have discussions around that.

My background to moding is the C&C serie, mostly on Red Alert 2 Yuris Revenge and Generals Zero Hour. I did some script work for 3 mods, which never was relased (nor were them specially good either). Scripting as in scripting how to AI planneing to do their attacks, how to spend money and generally how to behave. I were no good at making scripts from scratch, so usually the work were to copy-paste, modify, rewrite allready excisting scrips that were in the game.

Tell us more about your moding history, ever been involved in moding? (and no, we are not talking moding as moding a xbox or something).

Back to the part about speaking about mods :
There is a great mod beeing in development for a known game - Carmageddon 2. I think most true racing game lovers have played this game one time or more in the past..

Either way, take a look in the following topics for updates:

What you think?

Please try to on topic, and speaking about moding / working with LEGAL rewriting of allready excistant games.
I'd mod carma tdr2000.

www.moddb.com for all your modding games etc.
i always wanted to mod Total Annihilation, until i realized someone made a game called spring, which is basically what TA was, but on steroids. so i'd basically have to relearn everything... fudge it.
I made a nice mod for Midtown Madness 2 many years ago. I had around 100 cars, all them real and high quality models. They weren't made by me but I modified the physics of each one and spent many hours testing to get them as real as possible. The acceleration 0/100km/h was exactly as the real one in each car. Handling was more difficult because the game is extremely arcadish though.
Then I did something similar with GTA III and GTA Vice City. I not only installed cars but also modified them to be as real as possible. I know I wasn't the only one, there are many similar mods and mine was never released, it was for my own use.
Also a nice mod for SWAT 4 with a friend. We downloaded 2 mods and we liked many things of each one but there were bad things in both as well so we decided to mix them. Obviously the credits are for the guys who made the original mods, but it's also true that we worked a lot. We changed the AI, added nice weapons, we created a crosshair for a sniper rifle from scratch, etc

I haven't modded anything in the last years because I have other stuff to do now, but yeah, it's something I really like
Good good! Keep 'em going

Please post videos, arts, anything of your work. I know there are a lot of talented people out there, and it's no such things as "bad work" (well unless I make something that is).
TVE...isnt that video showing destruction derby 2? ( still got it, should re-install some time) or is that really just a mod.
It's the game Carmageddon 2, with a DD2 mod

It's still under development, but the pace is fast and I hope that within a not too far away future there will be a playable version of this.

DD2 and Carma 2 are probally two of my favorite games of all time.
so, is the mod actually "better" than DD2?
Seems so
Damn this is going to be fun throwing on on a LAN party / hamachi. There are some modification which change the network code so that old game should be managable to be played online ^_^
