How to start League ?
Hi
I was wonding if anyone has created a document detailing the best way to get a league started? Any ideas and information will be welcomed.

I would like to start with a league for demo drivers to race and get an idea of what organized races inside LFS S2 are like.

Thanks ahead of time for any input.

A league for demo drivers might be a good thing, although the car/track choice is very limited.
You will of course need to provide a server to race on.

Firstly, I would decide on the number of rounds, and track/car combos. You should have a race length in mind, and plan the number of laps to fit with this. You can use the WR laps on LFSWorld as a guide for 'fast' times.

Next you need to pick a day for the races, and how often they will occur.
It is useful to check the events calendar here on the forum to avoid any clashes with similar or major leagues.

Minor details then need to be sorted...Points system, what to do about incidents etc.
You could look at the events subforum and see what other leagues do to get some ideas.

Then post up in the events forum the details of your league and ask for signups.
It is better if you have the signups open for a while before the first round, leagues which are announced with the race on the following weekend (nearly) always fail to attract drivers.

When you have enough signups, either start accepting reserves or post that the league is full.

Then all you need to do really is to make sure you provide the entered drivers with the info they need for each session - server, pass, date, time, combo etc, are usually PM'd to competitors in good time before an event, usually a week.

It's just admin from then on...working out points, making judgements on incidents etc.
Drivers prefer this to be done in a timely manner, theres nothing worse than waiting until the day before the next race to see your position in the championship.

Good luck

^ As the man said

I would just like to add one thing: only announce your league once you have everything ready. People won't trust in your league if you forgot to sort up some details before you open the signs-up.

Also, make sure you will have enough competitors before starting your league. Get in touch with a few buddies, inform them about your plans, try to convince them to take part in the league, etc.

Last thing, once your league is underway, you might wanna add it to the Events database.
