Rear tyres temperature
Hello guys,

do you have some tips?
I'm playing to increase the temperature of the rear tyres (XF GTI).
After 4 laps the front tyres reach about 50/55°, while on the back I've got only 35°, that I believe it is a very low value (perhaps I'm wrong..).
How do you handle this? Whatever I tried it didn't worked for me..
but I know to be very mean in setting up cars !!

Many thanks
It's because the rear tyres aren't powered, don't steer, etc.

They just get dragged along so they don't heat up so easily.

Lower pressures usually get hotter quicker - the rears on a FWD XFG do little work so they are often run at a low pressure so that on a hotlap they get warm and stay warm to give grip.

If you raise the pressure, you usually get a lower temperature and less grip - which will in turn lead to oversteer. Which isn't neccesarily a bad thing, depending on your driving style.
And.. do you think it will affect the overall lap performances, or it doesn't matter?
If I understood, it is not the case to struggle too much.. much better to focus on other areas.. right?

Depends again how you drive.

Personally i'm faster with a looser set as I dont like understeer and much prefer slight oversteer, however in an ideal world i'd geuss more grip is faster.
I'll try both!! Even if I probably can say now I won't notice a big difference
(My best lap is about 1.37.800 at Blackwood 'till now..)
I noticed having Norms on the back, they don't warm up. Try installing a set of hybrids. That has done my rear tyres the warm up =D.

Why do you want to heat them up if they already give enough grip??
If you want more grip and heat/wear, lower rear tyre pressure.
