The game and support sites for LFS have grown by Leaps and Bounds, but still I miss the Old S1 Ticker Tape. It was instant eye candy to know who was where and how fast they were going.

It was and should be a main stay for LFS WORLD.

No polls to ask if it should be because later joiners have no idea what I'm talking about, to state it simply it was a running tape on the top of LFS World that would report Pb's and chit..gave yah all info at one glance..I could see maybe my friend....schooner.... did a PB a Fern Green with a time of 1:18:70 and I'd know where to find schooner in what car and how fast he is tonight...and with INSIM the tape would allow second GEN programing for LFS for contacts.

All the Racers Stats and if they are online and how fast .....well it did it all on an about minute loop.

Instant Eye Candy.

And I know you seen the ticker tape because our join dates are the same...tell me it wasn't a nice feature...and why....don't just bark.

i dont remember.. or atleast i definetly dont remember anything called a ticker tape.. if you had a picture i might be able to remember, but right now i have no idea what your talking about lol

See. Was an instant...but now.wow....you could click a buddy in ticker and INSIM him/Her, easier than FIND USER..easier than RACERS AND HOSTS...hell it's even easier than Live alert...because you don't have to add any specific drivers.

I do still have S1 and now and again will drive the GTT and shake my head a Macest 27:50 first split.....but I can't call up the S1 stats World.maybe Vic can post a screenie.

LFSW needs a redesign (scrap the desktop) to make any of those tickers/scrollers work in my opinion.

The old design made it very easy and nice to use such a thing... now we have sluggish 'fake' windows and no real need to add more junk on top of that. I liked the ticker on the old LFSW, I would dislike it on the current LFSW, that's all I am saying.

How many windows could ticker deal away with?

I used to look at ticker and get drawn into a car/Track combo i wouldn't drive.If I use all my filters that LFS provides,I'd never see it. Eye Candy. Parcipation is the Name of the Game.

I was only on the old LFSWorld once or twice back then. I was only a demo racer in S1, never got licensed until the week after S2 was released (purchased in stages, S1 first week, S2 second week). That ticker tape looks like a cool feature. I also think I would like the old LFSW tremenously over the new desktop LFSW.

Didn't Victor say in and interview somewhere that he was thinking of revamping LFSW sometime? In ASS or something?

On LFS World, you search a CAR/SERVER/PLAYER,
On the ticker you knew at a glance, PLAYER "Y" set a PB of 1:18:79 on Fern Green, if I click PLAYER "Y" (like Join in Racers and hosts) that click would join. Why make me download another program to join?

The ticker Tweaked would work.

I hate rolling text along my screen. Make it an RSS feed of it instead and download/make your own reader, there are plenty which make a ticker of the feed.

But please don't add a ticker to the site at the moment most (big) sites removed it (CNN also from tvscreen)

RSS feed isn't a bad idea, then anyone could use it on their site.

Marquees are OUT. period

There are many other ways to make this better, we'll see what vic comes up with... sometime
