I've just tried to be frauded!
hi ho.
i was selling my PSP on ebay today and someone in the USA won it... when it clearly said ship to UK only. so i asked for the extra cash for postage. i got an email back that looked like PayPal saying that they had sent the money but...

And i quote
"This payment is pending because it was sent in a currency in which you do not currently hold a balance.Get back to us with the Shipment Tracking details so that we can verify that the item has been shipped and transfer the funds deducted from the buyer's PayPal account to your account. If you have any question or you want to send the Shipment Tracking details to us , feel free to do so . You can also send the Shipment Tracking details to the buyer if you want."

haha im too smart to fall for that. i aint sendin nuffin, and its written in such bad and unprofessional english too. I emailed [email protected] and they confirmed that the emails were indeed scams.

'av it bitches!

I echo these comments. They should be shot!

Indeed, damn americans. ;p

I hate people who want something for free all the time. They all need a kick in the crotch. More so if it means conning money out of someone who worked hard to get it.
I get several 'phishing' attempts every week. I use whois to look up the domain administrators contact details and send them an email explaining that the site is located on the server. Sometimes nothing happens but a few times the site has been removed promptly.

So all you fraudsters - keep 'em coming - I luv it!
The greatest phishing e-mail I ever got was from my "bank" saying they lost my internet banking details and I need to send them all to them so I can use my account again...

i get them as well (i own Jakg.com, and get 100 spam emails a day ffs!) even for things i dont own!
I had just made a Paypal payment, and I suddenly got a mail from some fraudster. 'Please click this link and fill in your paypal details'.

I get stuff like that. My domain name (psychoman.net) used to be some "free" porn site, as such it's blocked on 95% of filters, but I keep getting e-mails from places and people I've never heard of as they were for the old owner, and if I get one more e-mail selling me penis enlargment patches I'll eat my face.

But when I get phishing e-mails I usally play along, one of them was for HSBC (as it happens I don't own a HSBC account), the duplicate was great, but the address bar gave it away, so I just forwarded the e-mail to HSBC. After filling the system with tons of fake details, making the whole collection void as it'd take too long for them to go though them all, so it gets trashed. Fun fun.

I've tried to sell my scooter online once, some gimp from holland apparently wanted to buy it. He even got round to sending the fake cheque to me and requested i'd send the money for travel on to his 'shippers' who didnt actually exsist. I tookthe cheque to HSBC and they said it's a mickey mouse... I kept all correspondance with me and gave it all to the cops.

If I ever see them I promise I'll slice their throat for thinking I could be taken for a ride.

+1 for the good!
Just got an email where someone asked for my PayPal stuff, since they lost it.

Point is,I dont even have a PayPal account

That's because they lost it. =p

I get an e-mail from PayPal every week saying they need my details, or some such. But always to an e-mail address I've never used PayPal with, same with eBay, and many other websites.

I really don't get how people can fall for them...

Wow, this (just taken from my spam box) has to be the most inventive way I have seen to try and get past a spam filter. Even if it didn't work.

Indeed. At least in the old days they'd spam you with crap that might apply... which was probably why I got so many mail order bride e-mails
Why not scam them back? These people will do ANYTHING for your money, even if that means losing a little of theirs.

If you tell them that you can't afford to send the item to them without having some money straight away, and you need £20 (or whatever) to post it, they'll quite often send you what you ask for. Just make sure to ask for it in a way they can't get it back (don't use PayPal, use Moneygram or similar).

Are they quoting "Angels and Demons"? (I know because the fax he is turning 180 degrees is actually on the side of my computer case in plexiglass and illuminated). That actually IS a very inventive way... But hasn't been given too much thought.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm rolling in cash right now! Some prince from Nigeria contacted me via email, said he was in trouble and had to flee the country and he wanted my bank account number and PIN. So we exchanged few emails and he promised to send me money.

And voilá! Just purchased my brand new BMW M6!

Plus I got a boatload of Viagra, anyone want some?

I had my own shipment sent over. But once my manhood became 12 feet it became impractical (plus i tore my last woman in half)

Why do they always have some text at the end that makes no sense???

oh yeah! i forgot the funniest emails i get! As i've said, i own Jakg.com (although purely for the email adress, as you can tell the site SUCKS), but i (and Geldandgo and Hernandez, who ive never heard of, but the spammers seem to like to email) get emails from "The Jakg.com Admin Stafff" (their typo!) saying i need to resend my payment details to Admin @ Jakg.com (although the link is mailto:someone else@yahoo.com)
