What Version of PHP Do You Use?
What version of PHP do you use on your webserver?

I need to know, so I can get a better idea of where I should target the next version of the SDK minimum requirements to be set at.

If after voting you could also give the version string, that would be useful as well.
PHP Version 5.2.13
5.2.6, 5.2.9, 5.2.12, 5.3.1.
5.2.9 being the one used primarily for LFS related webstuff.
5.2.9 on my website apparently, wampserver says 5.3.0.
5.2.11, but i could stand to be using newer.
5.2.6 on my production boxes.
Both 5.3.2 and 5.2.6 on dev boxes (at the moment).

I'd suggest targetting 5.3.x - unless do use some of the new features the code should work on 5.2.x.

goto statements anyone?

Neal Stephenson thinks it's cute to name his labels 'dengo'
5.2.11

5.3 gives a lot of problems with for example Joomla. I'm not sure if they fixed this with the update of yesterday.

And well, even if they did, I don't see any need to upgrade to a newer PHP version anyway. Not looking for trouble.

Ouch! So incorrect.

This comment alone should be reason enough for Dygear to go nuts with the new features of 5.3.x.
5.2.3

Possibly, but if there are problems I'm yet to come across any show stoppers yet Bear in mind I'm not dev'ing a lot recently tho.
5.2.9

Yes you think so?

Maybe a lot of hosters are still on 5.2 because of the earlier mentioned reasons. But you can continue to live in your own little shell, thats fine.

I'm not following Dygear's work but only try to explain whats going on in the world. 5.3 is not downwards compatile with 5.2 and not only because of goto commands. Period. Some commands are altered and old code suddenly does not work in 5.3 and above.

People are doing more than LFS and in some (most?) cases are dependable on other environments.

Hosters rarely want to upgrade to newer versions if that gives problems.

There is also no Zend Optimizer release for 5.3.x yet, which a lot of people use. Hosts will start to use 5.3 soon, but it most likely will not be until Zend Optimizer is available.

Filurs shell is awesome.
I use 5.2.6 for most of my web design.
