LFSCART 2010 Round 1 : Race Discussion
Season Opener 2010! Let's get it started. Kyoto National is the track for the 12 hour season finale and LFSCART is proud to be the support race for this big event. Of course we're not racing 12hours long but 47 laps are not bad either, are they? In great tradition of changing the track configuration for the Kyoto GP (that's the spdoDB name for this race) we're using the normal form this year (parallely Round 2 of OWRL F1, the one and only round we have a clash with) races it in reversed direction. BEWARE OF TRAFIC!

Anyways, getting serious now, we expect this round to be as dramatical as last year's Kyoto GP. Rudy van Buren took 2 victories here in last year, but highlight of the race were the last lap battle between James Barrington of Sim Racing Society and Ondřej Maška who was free agent at this point of the season as well as the battle between the L'equipe saucisse de foie teammates Yann Laprevotte and Timo Hynninen. While the battle between Maška and Barrington ended in a dead heat for second, Laprevotte and Hynninen chrashed after Hynninen dived down on the apron to overtake, however Hynninend finished 6th, Laprevotte 7th.

Part of the track is on the oval, which basically counts as a long wide straight, but the rest of the track is quite narrow and twisty.

Dear Rudy,

Taken from the NDR Sporting Code that applies to all NDR series.

Quote from sporting code :VII. Penalties
1. The administration reserve the right to issue penalties as deemed fit for violations of rules.
Penalties issued in-race must be served within 4 laps of issuance for distance-based and 10
minutes of issuance for time-based races. No penalty may be served under Safety Car
Conditions.
A driver who fails to serve a penalty within the time limit may be escalated to
the next penalty level.

Please refer to the bolded and underlined text. Thanks.
Like i said i sended a pm to deko and thilo thats all im gonna say about it here.
will end up in loads of blabla not needed.
Yes.

On another note I had a lot of fun today, even though some of the driving was suspect (including mine ). Thanks.
"That's the way to be a team..."

Okay, they had also a bit of bad luck with tactics and some racing accidents. But the end of the race was an epic fail. Still we showed that we've got potential, when we ain't failing with everything!
Oval please.

Sorry for being in anyone's (or everyone's) way.
Quote from hariel-HUN- :I am filing protests against cars #34 and #33.

#34 took me out intentionally on lap 3 jsut before the last corner of the lap.
After recovering, on lap 6 #34 turned down withouth any reason in Turn 1 (1st banked oval corner).

My car has damaged so seriously, I had to give up the race. Please check replay.

Dude, your lag was absolutely horrible, and extremely dangerous. I belive you should rather consider yourself lucky that you didn't ruin anyone's race, apart from yours(this might sound rude, but this is the truth). You were all over the place, and it was really tough to avoid you.

I think you really have to download the official replay to realise how difficult it was to with race you, seriously.

If I had an advice: check your connexion before round 2 Thanks in advance.
This was massive fat joke race for me.
1) I came late.
2) I realised i had no skin.
therefore 3) I had no chance to qualify.

And the failboat keeps sinking:
After start, Myers keeps standing on his spot and i hit him. On oval, few seconds later, someone spins, i couldn't avoid him. So i work my way up to 14th place in 4th lap, then some hero takes me down. Ok, i carry on. After pit window opens, i take my chance and go to mandatory stop. There i lose shitloads of time, because i forgot to turn damage repair off. Thanks to this i got stuck right behind the SC with no chance getting any further.

I want to know, where the hell was the SC? I did 2 more laps, before i catched him. This practically ruined my race. Seriously, i demand some explanation.
After restart, i was stuck in train of some faster and lots of slower cars. Tried to let the faster through and pass the slower ones, which was going quite well, until the moment, when i was passing some white-red car on oval, got right under him, he smashed it to me and sent me spinning, while driving away. After that i just overtook Myers, who was my entire-race-entertainment. 15th place isn't satysfying at all.
Sorry for after race rush through cars and possible crashes, as i had some lags, but this race was disasterous.
Also LOL@Rudy.

And congrats to Michal on his victory, very well done.
BTW, sorry Kid for that sudden move around lap 28.
Qual: Hoped to get to supersix, but unfortunately didn't reach that.. I think I started 8th-9th? huh.

3 wide in the 1st lap in the oval part... great, some damage on front left geometry, quite felt it but learnt to live with it. Decided that it's not worth it to repair it and lose some seconds. Fighting, driving... many safety cars. Tried to be careful, sometimes not. In the end of the race I got right behind Hutchinson and there was some battle... then something happened, I passed him, pulled away... and prayed not to fail much which I did in the commentary box anyway.

Too bad we don't have full grids
Forgot to say:

Sorry to Kid for sliding into you. I had two wheels on the grass and tried to brake so I just slid into you, sorry.

Sorry to Liane for taking you out like that not my intention.
Drift King CZ: Is Kimi teaching you, how to do race reports?

JDM: Np, i thought it wasn't intentional, just kinda.. unexpected.
Well done to Michael, that was a good drive to the front.

I was really happy to make it into the superpole session, I figured I'd start mid-pack at best. I felt like I could win the race after Rudy eliminated himself, but safety cars hampered me a bit. Even with SCs, I still felt like I had a shot until a big lag under caution caused me to check up right in front of my teammate. It was just a little bump at the time, but it became steadily worse as the race wore on. In light of the circumstances, I'm really pleased.
Epic Commentry today. I was litterally ROFL.

I teach Kimi.

Thanks btw :P and grats too.

I was ripping my hair off as a team manager
Quote from JackDaMaster :
Sorry to Liane for taking you out like that not my intention.

No worries Jack. I think I slightly hit you at one of the restarts, too, sorry about that.

Generally some good racing, really enjoyed it. Thanks for the broadcast and kudos to NDR for the administration. Looking forward to the other races already.

Right so SC was deployed when the leader was in Turn 10. The SC waits on the extreme outside of Turn 11. an error in communication caused the SC to miss picking up the leader, and we had it wait to pick up the leader for another lap. We always try to not move the SC until the leader is on the same area if possible, to reduce wave-arounds.

You were still trapped a lap down to the leader at the time, Car 51, because he did not pit under the SC, and you were behind him. Had he pitted, you were ahead of 2nd place Rudy, and then would have been waved around. I don't think that this would have changed had the SC picked up the leader straightaway anyway, unless all of the top 4 at the time (van Buren, Mehlinger, Tormala, and Engel) had pitted.
Wilky, you re commentary was brilliant, i was so , well....., im watching it now, it s so intense, i mean love it very brilliant expecially when you said, that i was defending for my life now, and you were tottally right, caus i was sweating like a pig, and that fight killed all my energy, so at the end my arms were hurting so mucht and still hurting now, that i couldn t turn my weels or understand where i were in this time of space.

toff race for me and nice move liane, and nice racing

I also loved the oh dear oh dear oh dear. That sounded very Zoumy
ooooh teh drama in this thread, let's all show an interest

Anyway, the commentary, stream and administration were all magnificent, my rare positive attitude being blatantly uninfluenced by the resulting in my best ever LFS finish, seriously, thumbs up I hope things can continue like this for FE4.
