Finished Skins rules
This is quite bugging me as I am trying to find some proper skins, which is really irritating sometimes.

Main reason is that people post too much private skins and chat WAY too much on the topics, which makes it even harder.

It even looks like no moderator/admin is enforcing the rules, or watching the threads, even though there are rules, which everyone seems to ignore.

Quote from Victor :
RULES:
  1. ONLY Post Finished Skins
  2. If you have a screenshot, please post the skin file also (not a requirement, but would be nice).
  3. If you have the files hosted elsewhere, please DO NOT use [IMG] tags for screenshots, etc. It will make the thread load slower for 56k users.
  4. Try to keep the chatter to a minimum, new people are viewing this thread to find themselves a nice skin, they don't need to scroll through pages of text to finally find something. If you want to comment on someone's skin, that is fine, but please... everyone is exploring their own creativity and personal tastes, so be supportive.

For example, the last page of XR skins thread is just private skins/chat, and includes only 1 (not-so) well done skin, and it makes it just harder, if you're trying to find a decent skin from the thread that you would like to use.

The posting of private skins has been covered, point 2) says that posting the skinfile is not a requirement.

I RTM huge great pics occasionally and they do get removed.

In the past I have suggested the use of a vB mod to autoresize posted images (max size is per user and set in UserCP), but now I think that quite simply disallowing IMG tags to be used in all of the skins threads is the best way forward.

Like the leagues subforums, this would again be a case of the idiot few ruining it for the sensible many.

I'll never understand why posting private skins is allowed in the finished skins thread.

I would prefer to forbid it. Also a solution would be that every post (forced that every post contains a skin) could have a rating or comments system so people could get feedback but the thread would not be spammed. I fear though this is not within the limits of vB.
About IMG tags, I always use clickable thumbnails to avoid breaking the forum layout. I only use attachments when necessary, and full-size images, when needed, I try to link them. About private skins, why not make a thread exclusively for these? Would surely make finding good skins a lot easier.

Oh, and another thing.

I always use attachments, because I believe that they will be there for as long as the forum is in existance. Maybe also backed up along with everything else.

Skins posted on 3rd party sites, image hosts etc tend to disappear.
You can't really exclude yourself from this behavior, Niko? But nice to see you grown up a bit.

As for this thread, i doubt that people that show off their stuff like this, will see this topic.
I've commented (like some others) on people doing this, but it either will be ignored or you get answers like "your problem".

Mods could do something, but on the other hand why should they...

I know this, and I admit i've been guilty about that, but decided not to add that into the OP, but usually my skins are so horrid I am afraid of releasing them.

I understand I've been quite "rude" towards your behaviour before, but right now, I do understand why you do that.

Besides, it's about time I need to grow up, I'm 18 quite soon
