This is the strangest thing I have seen.

Ok... I joined the race right after the grid lined up, I completed the race and others could see me, one guy even hit the brakes as he spun me around! However my name nor my car shows up during the replay.

Make note of Nachaso at 1:35 Replay time. Why would he hit the brakes if there wasn't anything there?

Well, This is a different issue. During the race, people could see my car, make solid contact, and be aware of it.
The Race Results showed that I finished 6th However the replay does not even show me.

Probably only an replay recording error. Was that happening even before, or is this the first time?
What was written on board after everyone finished race on replay. Was you on the list?

This is the second time this has happened.
The results board listed me in 6th place.

Tried reinstalling? And backup everything before that. And download a fresh installer, maybe yours is corrupted.

It boarded you 6th even in replay?

I think this may be the same issue (?).

Have been hosting a race series with guys from work (got 6 people to buy S2 so far - more power to the devs' elbows etc).

In this 10 lap race 'megadon' started 5th & finished 3rd - everyone confirms he was there racing throughout.

He is absent from the replay from the start. He appear towards the end (around 10 mins 55 secs) but initially the track is not drawn and the message says he is leaving the pits etc. Lap counter shows 1/10.

When he finishes the race it show him correctly as 3rd and on the same lap as the leader. Hopefully the MPR will help.
