Quote from pearcy_2k7 :Monaco is actually one of my favourite venues, though it does lack overtaking.

I love Monaco too, and completely appreciate the skill it takes to drive 1 1/2 hours round there in an F1 car. I'm not kidding myself that it will be in any way an exciting race though.
To anyone who watches the Speed TV coverage:

Is it just me or has David Hobbs gone off the deep end? I love his unique vocabulary (clag is my favorite word!), but he seems to sart his sentences and then just mumble away into nothingness. It typically goes like "Rosberg said he didn't like the new wheelbae and that he wants...." and he just stops. I also love back in Shanghai when he kept refering to the Mercedes cars as Brawns, even though he was being told they weren't. It was along the lines of:

Hobbs: Yes there's shumacher in one of the Brawns.
Varsha: We assume you meant Mercedes, right?
Hobbs: No, he's in the Brawn.
Varsha: He's driving a Mercedes-Benz right now.
Hobbs: Yes, a Brawn.
Varsha: MERCEDES!
Quote from The Moose :
I don't know where you saw drama and excitement but there certainly wasn't any in the race i saw.

There was plenty of drama:

1. Car forced onto the grass @ start of race. + crash
2. Cars bailing @ T1, taking shortcuts over speed bumps.
3. Cars crashing out.
4. Cars setting on fire in the pit lane.
5. Cars ramming each other & breaking into pieces.
6. Button being a puss.
7. Ferrari nearly slamming into back marker.
8. Vettel driving with no brakes.
9. Hamilton front tyre explodes with 2 laps to go.

Were you a sleep? This is F1 remember not BTCC.

Monaco used to be my favourite F1 track in the F1 games

In real life it's still ok because of how close to the barriers they are, but overtaking - none.
I'm scared to think what will happen in Monaco with these backmarkers going 6, 7 seconds slower then others..
The race wasn't the most exciting but I didn't find it boring. I enjoyed Schumachers defensive driving, crapped myself watching Kobayashi fighting with Petrov since they are both in my F1 fantasy team and Kobayashi is aggressive to say the least, and then there was the drama of the last few laps. Vettel did well to drive around the problem he had, looked like he did a good job to actually keep the car on the track before the stop he made. Unlucky for Hamilton, he had such a good race until that puncture, his pace was brilliant and I doubt another driver would have matched him in the same machine in clear air. Oh and in my opinion Jenson should have made a pass stick on Schumacher, Martin was right when he said you can't flag up a pass that early against someone like Schumacher. I think Hamilton would have done Schumacher within a few laps, or not have let him pass in the first place. Also I think Hamilton was right to back out, that gap was closing fast and he would have been done in the next set of turns if he went in deep, he knew 2nd was a great position to be in at that point.
Quote from The Moose :Ohh come off it Lamerr, That was a boring race.

There was next to no action whatsoever. If that's what you call an exciting race you must lead a very dull life.

Right, not even going to go into a, Ive seen more shit than You(which I have) discussion.

But what I said was, it was a fairly decent race, like more or less every race, it had its "dull" moments, but that should not cloud the overall view of that race.

Some people are never satisfied, maybe they been playing too much Carmageddon back in the days
Quote from lamerr :Some people are never satisfied, maybe they been playing too much Carmageddon back in the days

It's fine that YOU think that the race was exciting and it's great that you had fun watching it. But a few others didn't. Why do you have to keep moaning about that?

And how are "some people never satisfied"? Almost everybody who didn't like this race actually said that the season has been quite exciting so far. So they hardly are "never satisifed".

Another nail in the coffin for technical advancement in F1, absoluetly ****ing ridiculous. :arge:

Hardly, more like another avenue for expensive research into areas with no relevance to road vehicles closed.

Before you complain about technical regulations in F1, remember that F1 has always been about technical innovation within a set of rules. The rules are always written only with the present technical possibilities in mind. As new possibilities come along (wings, active aero, tc, double diffusers, f-ducts, etc) that go against the original spirit of the rules, they are rewritten to clarify the ideas.

What F1 needs is a push towards road-vehicle relevant technology, as that is what will bring manufacturers back to the sport. The proposed rules for a smaller, 4cyl, turbocharged DI engine with a rev limit are just the thing.
Quote from amp88 :Murray and Nichols did the MP4/4, Oatley was later.

Sorry for my mistake...

About the F-ducts, I find that it's simply insane to make drivers use just 1 hand to steer for the cars that didn't previewed it when they did the chassis homologation (like Alonso did this race on some fast corners). It's too dangerous, and it makes it easier to the driver to be distracted (they have to deal with over 20 buttons on the steering wheel plus the brake bias selector, and now have to block the airflow using their hands).
Oh yeah webber!!!!!!!!!!11

would be really interesting to see if that was just bad luck, or bad tyres management by Lewis...

Ohh you're so wrong in thaat! haha
Spain really needs a good track i mean both the tracks there are equally the most boring on the calender.

Majority of Spain is racist, and seem to still be butthurt from Hamilton destroying Alonso in his rookie season.
Thats true.

They never accepted that Alonso lost the battle against Hamilton in equal cars.
Luckily for both of you, neither all english or germans show your level of retardness.

I'm not English, nice try, but anyway how's the butthurt?

From crash.net

Quote :Hamilton, who had managed to jump Sebastian Vettel at the first pit-stops, and who was running comfortably second, saw his race come to an abrupt end when a suspected rim failure sent him into the turn three tyre barrier with less than two laps to go.

If anyone was paying attention while watching the crash, you could see the rim explode and metal flew off over Hamilton's head.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/h ... t/formula_one/8671198.stm

If you watch that video 31 seconds in you see the rim blow then the tyre deflates.
Sorry Burnout, it wasnt any personal attack, I just agreed with AMB on the fact that most of the spanish fans are still having rage against Hamilton

Its just dumb to make assumptions about the whole population of a country. No offense taken Timo
