MRT driving guide ?
Hello !

I have some troubles to safely drive the MRT.
Usually, most car give some kind of warning "you reached the physical limit of the car and you're going to crash if you push harder" (usually one of the tyre start to slip, or the car doesn't turn, etc).

But on the MRT, i feel "glued" to the road and then, suddenly, i find myself flying, looping, crashing in a wall, etc ... without notice.

Do you have any link/page/guide/whatever that explain the basis of the MRT, please ?
Or any advice ?

Thank you.
Drive smoothly. Move the wheel too fast and it'll kill you.

If you use a FFB wheel it should be possible to control the MRT after some practice. As said above you need to turn very smoothly on the limit. This also is a matter of your setup. You can't feel the car sliding away smoothly but you can feel the limits of the chassis through the Force Feedback.

Lower the wheel rotation, so it will only allow like half lock of the car/kart ingame, this way you've less chance of spinning out, be relatively smooth, but believe it or not you can be pretty hard/harsh with it, watch for kerbs because they effect the car a lot more than some of the others, use a decent amount of force feedback and watch the downshifts as it over revs quiet a bit and if you do it too quick this can cause you to spin out as well as damage the engine.

I find it easier to use a higher rotation, around 540 degrees so you can be alot smoother.

I use normally 390 for all cars.

I must be really nub then since i use 720.

No, that's why your slow, least you got an excuse to be

nah, it's upto the driver, I prefer lower... because i've always used lower.
I also used to use 360 while racing but i can't be bothered to turn it down anymore.

Well i'm guessing you use the higher rotation for drifting probably?

But yeah, let's not go too off topic

Yes drifting.

Just remember you can't polish a turd, unless the turds name is Ginho!
it all starts with a good setup, i have two in which one has a fair bit of oversteer so you can be fast and on your limit, and one has just the right amount of control for a begginner. do you want me to upload?
I love th MRT, used to have a kind of league on the lfs bangers server a few years back, brilliant fun, once mastered of course, as they are a little tricky to begin with as the OP says, but a bit of practice and you'll be flinging it around with no problems, its like driving an oversized gokart!

Pros use 400 or less :P nub

hehe I am not an "alien", so that I always use 720º degrees.

With MRT I drive with caution. You need feel comfortable when you are driving. Maybe you need to use less degrees on setup. Normally, people use 20º and me always 12-15º.

Sorry for my grammar mistakes dude. I am improving.

Hehe your Grammar is fine, and yeah I was just joking with the 'pro uses 400 or less' comment, but it all depends on the set and what the steering rotation the driver feels ok with, I prefer lower because I don't have to turn the wheel as much which means I can counter a slide quicker.
I have always thought that all degrees is better. You can feel the car so much, in my opinion.

You mean higher degrees?

it's the opposite for me :O

Since I setup my G25 I have only once driven a car in LFS without its given shifting and steering standards at a full setup steering lock. I find it to be the most rewarding driving experience since I have arms and steering wheel turned on and with the wheel set to 900° and full wheel turning compensation that's the biggest possible immersion for me now.

yes
Thank you for the infos (not the degrees of rotation of your wheels, not very helpful :arge.

After a few thousands of km on a cruise server, i'm certainly not mastering the MRT, but i have a very good feeling with it

Now i switched to the RAC car, which is a total pain after so many hours of slalom between cars with the MRT

Try racing it, maybe that helps.
