Are my idle temps to high?
Warm day like to day, my fans all buzzing away & it seems a lot more heat coming out of my rig than normal. So i booted up cpuid to check.

My slave card is idling @ 60deg, is that normal?
(my primary card only 53 deg)
Depends on card.
Is your fan on automatic or manual? If manual, which fan speed?
Does it have an cooler or only fan?
it has a standard-ish hsf
im not sure about fan control.

Check that...
I just plyed LFS for about half an hour and my temp is 48°. Mostly idle and load are same... I have HD4650 with automatic fan speed.
EDIT: BTW, as long as the GPU isn't overheating or slowing down, temp is ok...
Fan does what it wants so its auto.
As for the GPU overheating that was my question in the first place is it to hot?

Sod it i'll answer it myself, 60deg is not a healthy idle temp, time for some DIY.

First of all what card is it?

My 8800GT's run at 70C and 60C,

They used to be at 97C playing GTA IV lool, So I cleaned them up and placed a small fan blowing in on them..

like already stated, it depends on the card
never mind problem solved, some bodger had done a 3rd rate job mounting the after market cooler. It now idles at a healthy 49deg.
