Hello, sometimes I play lfs and for some reason (probably because I'm retarded ) I accidentally press the exit button and then I have to open LFS back open. So, if there was a "Are you sure you want to quit?" button, then that would be wonderful. What do ya'll think?
I prefer the streamlined 'spam esc' to quit. Although typically I use "/exit" or alt-f4, depending on my mood. But I can say, I would be annoyed if /exit or alt-f4 asked me if I was sure it was what I wanted to do. I mean, rarely have I pressed it without meaning to.
But it would get old quick answering the age old question "are you sure you want to do that". Of course I am you stupid computer, I just did it!
ok....so there are these developers of this EXTREMELY complex game, and there is a simple suggestion like this (+1 by the way).
sems easy enough to create. maybe a days work if even that.
what id do if i could is make an option to have it, and have the option decide when you want it to apply.
they could easily have it only work when one preses the exit button, and when they type /exit, or alt-f4 there is no confirmation. so there is really no need for a debate, they can do this easily
I'm not particularly fond of "Are you absolutely sure that the click on the exit button placed in lower right corner of the screen wasn't just a pure rare accident?", but as long as it remains optional, why not. It shouldn't take more than few minutes to implement...
I got 2 suggestion on this:
1st: to have ctrl+x as "leave game" than "end game" in multiplayer - I sometimes vote to end race just because of the habit of the shortcut
2nd: I think it would be better to quit replay to reply menu not main menu
Are you sure you moved your mouse to the very small area and clicked the mouse button at the same time.... yes / no
c'mon you click there and then want a nag msg. You don't "lose" anything when you exit really. If you had to wait ten mins to reload or something - I'd understand, but it's literally 5 seconds to resart. It's pretty hard to accidently click there, maybe I've done it once in 4 years 200,000kms.
You get a warning from hitting ESC 'cause that's relatively easy to do as you might be exiting several sub menus in sequence.
Seems to me the current interface logic as it stands is pretty logical. Scawen must shudder when he reads requests that he deliberately excluded. (Queue sideshow Bob)
Oh yes, lets spend "a day's coding" or whatever giving an option for this nag msg, (an LFS day's coding equates to 6 weeks in mortal's time) No offence at dev' as I think that is reasonable time anyway. I want an option so I can remove the pointless options
As I said, have an option. It could even possibly be automatically off in the options. I think it is just as nagging as having to re-open the game as to have a button. Just a little suggestion.
