Im confused - Help
I have these jacks on the hidden panel on the front of my computer and i don't know what they are for. they are the standard red white and yellow plug-ins.

If you could help me it would be appreciated.

Red & White = Stereo Sound RCA Ports
Yellow = VGA Video RCA Port

U can hook PS1 / PS2 or even PS3 to ur PC. Depends tho if its input or output.

I hooked up my xbox to it and had no result. i am wondering if these are maybe outputs
Might be, were those connectors on ur PC when u bought them? Or its a self made modification. Ive actually never seen these ports on PC's yet.

Came factory. Its on one of those push release things along with some triport thing and the headphone and microphone ports.
another thing that might be going on there, is that the ports might not be connected on the inside of the case. i have a few cases that have useless usb ports on them because the motherboard doesn't have enough headers to power the ports.
Well the headphone and mic ports work so unless it runs off another port i would think it work
1337sause - Can u find out whats the case name? Since its a factory made PC, it has to have a name - that way we could look up what it is.

Bunder9999 - Might be, never seen that myself yet but it might be. Like some have holes where u must just hit the plastic and place in ur port (like some have firewall ports).
Might be just the pre placed ports. The specs say its a media pc and maybe has the media interface stuff built in already.

"Chassis - Premium Tower Desktop with Media Control Interface"

But damn dude ... look at the reviews on this PC.

Media control interface is the touch pad on the top and i have had this computer for months and no problem at all.
specs don't say whether they're inputs or outputs. if they're outputs, the wire for the video port should loop outside the case and attach to the video card.

another problem is that you apparently have a TV tuner. so they might still be inputs, except you have to figure out how to change channels on the tuner.
Oh, my bad. Found this now, but no idea if they are hooked up. Not sure how things work with Gateways warranty, but maybe open up the case and have a look inside?
Quote :External Ports - (6) USB 2.0 ports (2 Front, 4 Rear), (2) IEEE 1394a Ports (1 Front, 1 Rear), VGA (Rear), (3) Front RCA Ports (Video, Left/Right Audio), (2) PS/2 Ports, HDMI (Rear), DVI (Rear)

Not a big deal i was just wondering and about the tv tuner. All i have to do for that is plug in a cable cord to the back and use windows media center
