The top three were cruising to the finish, and the last thing they'd want to do is to cruise home while right up someone ass, wouldn't do their engine temp any good.

Or perhaps he needed to nurse the tyres more than the McLaren, or he needed to save fuel to get to the finish. Or he just plainly gave up.
Sour grapes. Now Ferrari whine that the newcomers shouldn't be allowed to race

Quote :
Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has renewed his attack on Formula 1's slowest cars - claiming that if outfits are not quick enough they should not even be allowed to take part in grands prix.

After seeing Fernando Alonso's chances of victory in the Canadian Grand Prix wrecked when, on two separate occasions, he lost time and momentum behind backmarkers, di Montezemolo has again hit out at the backmarkers.

"Cars who perform at GP2-level should not be allowed to participate in F1 races because they are supposed to race on Sunday mornings," di Montezemolo was quoted as saying by Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Our car's race pace was good enough for victory. Let's hope that, in the future, there won't be mistakes in pushing a button nor in lapping cars that put us at a disadvantage, because we've already gone though that."

Di Montezemolo has said on several occasions that F1 would be better off allowing the big teams to run three cars, rather than bringing in new competitors to boost the grid.

Andrea Moda anyone?

Life?

Super Aguri? They were okay at times however

EDIT: Remember the 70s when Ferraris were slower at some tracks?
Lotus where Pretty much on par with the lower teams Ferrari just like to winge i think, the gap has closed badly since the start of the season, problem is when you got a tight track with passing opportunities this will happen.
Quote from J@tko :LOL what a dick

It's been far worse than it is now before, though.

So true...

I really want to like Ferrari but they make it nearly impossible with cocktalk like that.

Oh and imo Massa deserved that nose chop from Schumacher. Quite simply he should have known better, plus Massa himself didn't make any effort to accomodate Luizzi at T1 of opening lap.

Still, thats one of the best (non-weather affected) arace I've seen for a long time, welcome back Canada
The thing is that McLaren for the 2009 season built a car to the new aero and tyre regulations that when it hit the track in winter testing Lotus/Virgin would probably be competitive against. SO I think the new teams have done a great job. Also every front running team has to deal with backmarkers... Alonso just did a bad job of overtaking them.
See Mansell on Senna, Hungaroring '89

Happens to the very best.
Quote from JPeace :Looked to me as if he got pissed off with him and just repetitavely rammed into the side of him, imo a great drive from Luizzi to save his career.

on hindsight, what Liuzzi should have done was:
Go dead straight when Massa made his first chop to him going into the braking point for T1. Spinning him nicely, and then that'd hopfully take out a couple of whichever of the McLaren/Red Bull/Ferrari that was unlucky. Hence giving Sutil a easier run to more points.

It was more of bad luck.

The first one with Buemi, they were racing for position. So Ferrari should just shut up about this one. But Alonso did put himself in a very nice position to be overtaken by Lewis there.

The second one with Chandok, ideally he should have given way before entering the corner, but he didn't, and he nicely followed DC's advice of not going out onto the marbles to let Alonso pass. And Alonso wouldn't dare going out of the racing line himself because he crashed at exactly the same place a couple of years ago.

Bad luck for Alonso, great opportunistic moves by the McLaren drivers.

yarly? Remember Valencia and Spa 2009 Mr Montezemolo... Who was off the pace? With which one car?

/me now whines that crybabies and hypocrites shouldn't be allowed to be involved F1 teams
Badoer is the worst driver to race in f1 ever, even Ide and yoong make him look crap.

how about Fisi?

he was fighting for win at Spa one weekend in a Force India, and was struggling and qualified pretty much last the next weekend in a Ferrari.
Just shows how hard driving one of these cars on pace is.

Fisi atleast managed to not be last every time, badoer was last every time by miles in something capable of winning.
Fisi was up-to-date with driving F1 cars. Badoer was seriously out of practice.

However, I'd agree if you said Fisi is a more talented driver than Badoer.
