The online racing simulator
HD is pointless, you only notice a difference from a purely cosmetic point of view. It doesn't benefit anyone.
I really don't care about HD either. There are so many ways to make a stream look nicer - better camera positions for example, more/better positioned onboards cams(the one underneath Button's chassis was great though), etc. But of course I can understand that some people cares about the image quality - I only know I'm not this kind of people anyway.

On the other hand, I'm extremely interrested by the "interactive" coverage Bernie has been thinking of 10 years ago, made it real somewhere in the 2000s, and then, never been diffused/proposed to a large enough public I'd honestly be interrested in putting a few bucks a race for this, but unfortunately, it just isn't available where I live AFAIK. Seems like I need to move to Germany and buy Premiere to have it.

OT, but all of that makes me think of something: where have gone that 3D start animation introduced at Abu Dhabi last year?

There's tricky business decisions to be made. While we have broadcasters willing to spend absolute fortunes on providing coverage we won't see FOM make any real effort to bring forward online coverage. If a state broadcaster like the BBC is willing to spend millions getting the coverage FOM won't change. It's easy money for Bernie.

The fundamental nature of the structure of how FOM gets money for broadcasting F1 is key to all of this. Hopefully once the BBC realises that broadcasting a bunch of billionaires racing in their little club is by no means not a 'public service' we'll see FOM make a few more strides towards online coverage. FOM are getting way more money selling TV rights at an extortionate to broadcasters.

But there will be a tipping point where TV coverage is outweighed by online coverage in terms of viewing figures. When that happens I do not know.

The old Bakerville or Premiere/DF1 doesnt exist anymore now, it is now called Sky Germany and it uses the same worldfeed (except of Onboard channel and that stuff) like the other countries.

10 years ago they were able to switch the camera to the position they wanted to have but now it isnt possible anymore because of Bernie

So don't worry, it's nothing special nowadays about Sky or Premiere.
the one year sky had the f1 coverage available as a pay to view, the coverage was fantastic with the different cameras / coverage/ telemetry etc. i actually found my self watching it on a large screen from quite close with the menu screen so i could watch all the feeds at the same time
I watched the live data stream from BBC along with the TV coverage. It showed the car positions on the track just the same as the teams and commentators already get, this was the first event where they'd shared it online. It seemed to be about 3 seconds behind the live TV coverage, but you could still see someone come in the pits before it was mentioned.
It's similar to LFS Remote, but without the scenery textures.
Anyone else catch it? They're sharing it for the rest of the season I think.
HD? 3D?

Does no one notice the SOUND LAG???

Fix that first. Ruins the in car shots completely.

Sometimes the sound lags sometimes yes, but I find that it's generally when a replay is being shown.

the live onboard at Silverstone also had some pretty bad sound lag.

The sound lag made it sounded like drivers were still on full throtle going into the final hairpin, only braking when they're nearly at the apex.

Yea, I re-watched it and I know what you're on about. It should be fixed. It's retarded.
