Unconvincing win for Germany, had they played like that against most other "top" countries they'd have been given, properly.. The second Costa Rica goal was IMO offside but the first one was brilliant

So 2-0 officially to Ecuador, but Ecuador's second goal was offside as far as I could see (not that I could see much as drunk as I was/am), and Poland deserved at least on equaliser with the late shots rattling the crossbar and a side post, and playing a solid game overall.

Opening ceremonies are always pants, but I have to say that this one was a bit "special", I really couldn't figure out what the big brass looking "instruments" that everyone seemed to be banging were all about.

I only managed to catch a few minutes of the opening games as I was on a bar crawl with some friends. From what little I saw the Costa Ricans were giving the Germans far too much space and far too much respect, there will be harder games to come no doubt. Still, it's nice to get off to a flying start with a win, and opening games with plenty of goals always set a tournament up nicely.

It was so close. I´d say that the rightback almost played him onside. And also the linesmen are told not to raise their flag if they are not sure whether it was offside or wasn´t.

Why do you people do this? Who cares how someone choses to live there life. It's this blanket "omgtheyallsuck". I know a lot of "chavs" and they are all some of my better friends.

I went to school with "chavs" and bar the odd one or two douche bags, the rest of them were no different then anyone else.

It's this that causes problems on so many levels. One or two idiots make the stereotype for the whole group. You really should get to know people before you brand them all.
